I just drink night-time protein with milk. Not sure about carbs but you could try low fat cottage cheese for protein , its about 30 g prot. Don't eat that chocolate, your insulin will go up.

Hide that chocolate and crisps from yourself

Yeah the shake just before bed is what I usually do as well. As far as carbs go just stay away from those late at night. There is no need for carbs right before bed unless you want to put on fat.

Agreed about dropping the carbs before bed. Go with a casein shake, some lowfat cottage cheese, or beef jerky for a fast snack.

If you are concerned about your blood sugar levels at night time, then you should also stop drinking your protein with milk since milk has enough carbs (lactose) to raise your blood levels to the extent where the insulin hormone kicks in (insulin does not go up, it kicks in. It is your blood sugar levels that actually elevate, not insulin).

Low fat cottage cheese (1% milkfat) has a caloric ratio of 73% Protein and the rest is an almost equal split between fats and carbs; whereas, caloric ratio of skim milk is 42% Protein and 53% Carbs, making milk considerably higher in both GI and GL.

In sum, yes to cottage cheese and no to milk at night.

Buy a tub of Casein, which is usually fat and carb free night time slow-digesting protein drink. It has a thick texture by nature, which means you would have to mix it with more water than you would normally use for whey/soy. Calculate your daily macros and adjust the portions accordingly, 1-2 scoops is probably all you will need.
