    ^ ^ this.

If you can't fit it but just want a small snack, look into PB2 powdered peanut butter. Basically just peanuts with the oil pressed out of them (therefore no real benefit) - there is a bit of added sugar but nothing crazy.

i've found that natty PB is an awesome way to kill craving for "sweet foods". when youre on a stict cutting diet, it tastes ridiciously good. 1 tablespoon (100 cals) does the trick.

Do you think maybe 45g of carbs might be a better choice?

No because my fats were relatively low to moderate....

    Energy is energy IMO

I don't think it matters too much....

Carbs will affect insulin which may be of advantage to me at some times, and carbs are optimal for replenishing glycogen and maintaining glycogen levels....

But calories are calories and I need more ATM and don't wanna push my carbs over 400g for the moment...

I'm all for adding carbs but wanna do it in increments... The fats help to keep my happy as well and I sleep better on higher fat vs carbs...

Just oil things I have learnt about myself

I do enjoy the taste of peanut butter, however I usually find myself buying freshly pressed almond or cashew butter. Sometimes I make my own walnut, macadamia, or brazil nut butter.

I love it, usually mix it into shakes or just eat it off the spoon when I use it.

Understood mate, didn't realize your fats were already relatively low, and agreed about staying under 400g carbs.

The only statement i'd debate you on (and not to derail this thread, sorry OP!) is 'Energy is energy' ... I don't believe it's quite that simple, and research would suggest dietary fats are more readily stored as bodyfat vs. carbs. Lyle McDonald talks about this quite a bit which i'm sure you're already aware.

    HAHA

And yeh GB, you are right, it is not as simple as energy is energy....

I think to a certain point energy is energy but once you start going way high on fats there will be problems for sure.... fats are certainly not optimum for how we (as trainees) utilise our energy
