keto diet: no carbs pre and pwo?

    hi guys

im currently on a keto-type diet, only eating carbs before and after my workout. i have seen good results but lately the weight loss has slowed. so i was wondering if it were a good choice to drop the carbs completely from my diet for faster results?

im currently taking 20g carbs (oats) pre and 15g dextrose, 15g oats pwo.

and i should probably mention that i do 90 minutes weights followed by 60 minutes low intensity cardio

Very very little, less than 15g and majority of that is fiber

I'd drop the dextrose for starters. You're running a quasi-keto diet (I say quasi since it allows carbs pre/pwo, Palumbo style) but eating pure sugar of all carb sources?

Im taking the dextrose straight after weights with my whey shake because apparently dextrose is very fast absorbing and that's what you need when your muscles are depleted?

God damn that's a lot of cardio. More power to you.

What's your body fat now, and what was it when you started cutting?

    Are you having regular re-feeds?

I'm not sure about body fat, but i was 178lb now 160lb with a lot of muscle gained. Still need to drop a fair bit of fat, id say im around 18-20% at the moment.

Nah i'm not having regular refeeds, because when i do i feel like i am going backwards. I do have a massive binge every couple of weeks when i give in though. This is one of the reasons my progress has slowed.

How tall are you? Pics would be helpful...

Anyway, you're not doing it right. You need regular re feeds if you're going low carb like that. Hell I have regular refeeds and my carbs are 250-300 a day now. You need them not just to keep that metabolism going, but to restore leptin and ghrelin levels.

Institute *controlled* refeeds on carbs (not binge eating!), and keep your fats low, and even lower protien a bit on these days. No cardio on these days either.

See if that gets things rolling again for you.
