A little bit is okay. A banana and some raspberries are fine for now. But try to keep low in the beginning since fruit can spike your insulin .

fruit causes a insulin spike... so all caloric material that is in your system at time of insulin is immediately stored as fat.. . so what do you think??

never create a state where insulin is present in the body.. the only exception is pwo and even then i'm not a big advocate in that, glycogen stores can be replenished with legumes consumed in the diet..

With all due respect Spy, I have to disagree. To say all caloric material will be stored as fat when insulin is present is too general a statement IMHO. There are too many other factors that come into play for this to be so blanket.

I DO agree that on a strict cutting diet, fruit should be eaten minimally - ideally PWO as stated, but other relatively 'safe' times are first thing in the morning, pre workout, etc. Would I eat fruit before bed? Not a chance.

This I agree with 100%, and almost always try and rely on complex carbs in my diets. In fact, fruit does very little to replenish glycogen stores in muscle; rather, it almost all works on liver glycogen so while it's 'safer' PWO et al, it's not ideal in terms of muscle growth.

OP - on a cutting diet, you should be focusing almost all your carbs around pre/pwo anyway, so a bit of fruit during these meals is a non-issue IMO.
