thanks.. somepeople (like me ) have food disorders and just telling them to get it togehter is like telling someone to stop shooting herion. It isn't that easy.. i gjess i need to go back to the OA 12 step group- yet i dont find folks there with "bodybuilding" bodies-- so that makes me think the food might not work for them... maybe i am being too judgemental.
    today --
oatmeal w/ 1 scoop egg protein
4 egg whites that was breakfast

lunch. 1 piece wheat/high protein bread
    4oz turkey
juice w/ ginger, lemon, yellow beet, spinach, apple

not sure about dinner not very hungry--
guess i will have left over chicken breast and ??? or a bowel of high fiber low sugar cereal.

as far as the doctors and OMDs watching my life and health crumble at 36 being told for years by the western medical to take antidepressants a nd getting sicker and sicker to the point of having rolling high fevers at 6 years into it.. and still not having a real answer- i feel desperate at 44 to try to "get my power/life" back.. i am sick of screwing around with the western medicine that still doenst have an answer for me and i am looking for someone or somewhere that does. 44 is too young to have given up my work, my social life, and most importantly all the adventures i used to have and miss.. camping kayayking canoeing , biking.. so many great places in Ca to mountain bike. I miss life!! that is why i have so many people.. it is because i am tennacious..and i want to live again.. how many more years can afford to sit around and do next to nothing? stanford my be good.. but i have only seen this doc 1x in a 8 month period.. and he just tells me "dont push" .. you have cfids-- we dont really have an answer. ...

Slimmer you are right.. i need to take small steps.. yesterday i baked sweet potatoes and only ate about 1/4 of one.. it was good. i think alot of it is most times i dont have much appetite and then i only eat one really big meal-- which i never used to be that way.. it slows down the metabolism.. and my own cooking doesn't taste very good.. even chicken breast on the george foreman leave something to be desired.. ha!

i think a good first step that i came up with a few months ago was to make sure i ate 3x a day if even only protein shake.. so far since i made that commitment I have managed to eat 3x a day.. that is a change casue when i get stressed out i have a tendency to not eat for hours and hours-- and then eat something stupid-- or if i want to "beat myself up " i will not eat. and i am working on this.. 3 meals a day-- a good start.. and now working on putting in more nutrition.. thanks for helping me to remember i am / have been already succeeding in my goals. is there a spell check on this?

I understand EXACTLY where you are coming from. And this is why baby steps are very important. If you saw in my thread, I did not start off great as I wanted to get going and not wait to be perfect. And as I went along, I got better day by day. And in the process found the pancakes and learned better choices like the Greek yogurt which I still want to know from Twist why this is so bad. I think for people who are trying to change their lifestyle as opposed to a diet, foods like Greek yogurt is what keeps us going. It did me. And still does.

So if you can simply tell yourself you have officially started this, then you can now relax and trust that it will work. I am in shock how much eating like this has worked for me. In utter shock.

Try to eat at least 3 times a day.
Try to have some almonds or something similar for a quick fix.
Eat protein as much as you can
    Cut out milk for now.
Keep fruit to berries and bananas and apples.
If you have to have bread, eat Ezekiel.
If you have to have cereal, have Kashi "Go Lean"
And remember the pancakes. They are easy to make and allowed and also come with 2 more meals already planned.

    You can do this.

I used to keep almonds in my car.. i need to get some more.. I have to get the ezekial bread.. dinner wasn't the hottest but i tried portion control and at least i ate something cause i wastn' going to eat.. I had chicken saag.. and picked out the pieces of chicken breast so i didnt have alot of the saag..only a bit that was on the chicken.. and rice.. oopps and 1 small piece of nan..
i was reading the info from windex.. i like his idea about lowfat cottage cheese.. but then that means no dairy.. not sure i can do this..no dairy. baby steps.. are you still posting your food for the day? I think i am going to try to find an OA sponsor to get some extra help.. i have tried nutritionist and they would get really angry becasue i had a hard time sticking to the plan and after a while i didnt feel safe and realized i was wasting my money.. maybe i can work with eating 3x a day.. protein and portion control?? maybe that would be a good start.. and cutting out sugar.. is that taking the easy way out?

You are in great hands with Twist, the board is lucky to have trainers like him give quality, free advice.

Article #8 from here might be helpful for you:
    http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...n#.TjZK4mGk_To

Also, if you feel that you are sometimes lazy or can't be bothered to do cooking try to cook once a week for 7 days instead or set your diet up in a way that requires the least amount of cooking possible. For example, my diet is setup so I just do mass cooking once a week and microwave every meal. The exception is vegetables but I also don't mind eating those raw.

I have noticed with food i am very compulsive..like now i have 2 cooked chicken breasts in the fridge..but they dont sounds appetizing..so i will go get some chicken breast made at the mexican restarutant cause they taste much better.. It seems i eat as a comfort foods that taste good... rather than what i cook..casue what i cook seldome tastes good.. and i have done food prep in the past but i get really bored eating the same thing.. what would be really good for me is if i could just cut proportions from restaurants taht i get take out.. then i don't have to cook and i can divide out the protein and carbs.. but less control over fat.. although lower portions might be a help...untill i can manage to make some food that i dont mind choking down.. ha

Slim: Dairy is not something easily digestible for many. For someone with gi or any other issues (especially if the may be autoimmune) these little differences make a huge difference. Imagine eating something you are allergic to everyday: eventually your health would decline further.

Cam: You seem to have issues with self-control. You are definitely not alone on this board. However you need to get over this.I have "food disorders" and I eat a very small variety of foods. I would love to drink milk (miss it so much) but I don't because my health is a big concern for me. This is one of those times where you need to get it together.

twist cfids in NOT an autoimmune disorder. in fact the immune system is under active, as opposed to an autoimmune disorder. I have an a work up from a rhemotoligst and they said no autoimmune disorder. but maybe they are wrong and i am allergic to dariy? been trying to get it togehter bro...for over 4years with the food.. i beat myself up at times like this and it doesnt' help.. i am doing the best i can.. i even paid someone to cook meals for me for a while, then i coudn't afford it anymore. i have been trying for a while. thanks

I know what cfids is I was just clarifying that if there is an autoimmune disease these small things seem to make a much bigger difference. I wasn't speaking for your case. For your case I have no idea what the issue is but I wouldn't rule out anything.
CFIDS = I (Doctor) don't know what the issue is.

    QK:

I get where you are coming from in a deep way. I do. And the best thing I can say is this: when you want it more than the sugar or Mexican food wants you, then it will happen. I started a thread here last year while I was on a sugar binge. So many members came to my rescue. It was the support and encouragement that got my head screwed back on correctly. And the members who told me that I needed to WANT IT made me so frustrated at the time. I had tried every which a way angle to stop eating the sugar. But....I had to make a decision to stop.

So....you can do it. This takes time to change habits. And many here are already under control and some on the edge and some not even ready to admit they need help but instead think steroids will be the answer. We see a lot of this.

So....get out your food list. Make a list so the members can go over it and approve of what you WILL EAT. And we can go from there.

IT WILL HAPPEN. Gotta believe it. This forum site transformed my way of eating FOREVER. And again, if you read my log, in the beginning it states it took me an entire year before I fessed up as I was handing out advice all over the place telling everyone else to EAT BETTER.

thanks for your post Slimmer..it made me laugh.. as far as a food list.. i think the problem is .. i eat almost everything..okay.. except I am not big on salads.. occasionally i find one i like and i dont like dressing! I haven't had "hard sugar" in over a week!! yaya..
what will i eat.. mexican foods-- indian food- i can make chicken breasts or fish or lean red meat on the george forman and steam some asparagas or spinach-- i like sweet potatos..- i do really like the greek yogart with raspberries.and i dont need to add sweatner..
I like some small amounts of bread.. and i like some rice.. i eat eggs or egg whites almost everyday with oatmeal....been doing taht for months getting sick of it. i will make protein / green smoothies.. (one nutritionist told me about- with low fat coconut milk, greeen powder and some fruit) i do like one kind of salad with greens, apple, walnuts and small amout of blue cheese.. i get bored with the same tastes.. and need to adjust my taster buds-- for a while when i went to oa.. i was off sugar and flour and i ate bland food but it tasted good.. i was eating quiona - and spinach.. then my dog died and i lost it.. still working on getting back on track- .. there must be a way.. i posted that exercise in the workout fourm.. but not sure i have the stamina to do all that. since my "big" workout on saturday.. i have exhausted myself.. i think it was the vietnamse coffee-- gave me too much energy..but ya know -- it feels good to through weight around that the gym! but i need slow steady balance... instead of trying to be ms hulkette in 2 days via "caffine stimulants" !! does that work as a list? ps--- i ever since teen years i have been a problem child with disapline issues.. i hope Twist doesn't take it personal.. it is my own disapline stuff.. i can't even read a book!! going to the gym is about as disaplined as i get--- hey it could be worse! thanks for your honesty..
