In need of Advice from those who know more than me!

I am 42 (although in my head I'm still in my 20s!). I just had a baby in November and I have been doing cardio and watching my diet for the past 3 months trying to get back into shape. I know that I have several things going against me.. namely my age. I was 130... now I'm hovering around 170. No matter what I do I cannot seem to lose anything and it is VERY frustrating! I just got my first order of Avanvar in.. I've tried Winstrol and very low dosage of test . I only seem to get more bulky.. which is NOT what I wanted. So a trainer recommended I do this after his wife had children.. and now she is getting ready to compete and looks incredible. Now, that being said.. I need help. I am open to ideas on diet and exercise... what I'm doing is just not getting it.
    Thanks for any help!

L8yrMOM - you are in the right place! There are some folks here that can help you out....I on the other hand am not an expert! The diet gurus will be here shortly and will need to know your height as well.

Until the troops arrive, start educating yourself in the diet section. There are sticky notes at the top forum full of good info and a "sticky note worthy" post by WINDEX..here's the link

    http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...et-Information

I can tell you from my own experience that you need to get your DIET in order first and cardio will become your new best friend in the gym. Girl, I lost 35 pounds in 5 months and I am maintaining for 2 months and it is a lifestyle. I would recommend that you focus on diet and exercise before you turn to "supplements". Those are for "final tweaks" and you will waste your money if your diet and exercise are not complimenting each other. Put them aside for now. Trust me!!

    Happy reading and welcome

L8, welcome to the board! Better L8 than never! Ok, corny as hell... moving on....

Can you give us an idea of what your diet generally looks like? Take us through a full day, listing time of day for each meal and what you eat - be as detailed as possible.

How about training and cardio, what does they look like for you?

I would strongly recommend you ditch the gear for now and focus on diet and training as GGR suggested. Without the fundamentals in place, AAS will do nothing more than drain your wallet, and be potentially harmful if you don't know what you're doing. Right now, proper diet and training are all you need!

Btw - I can attest to GGR's triumph, she looks phenomenal!!!

    Welcome to the Diet Forum!

You came to the right place to change your life.

As far as AAS? I bulked up myself just on bhrt because my BF was not down. So please stay away from it.

To get started please list out what you are eating as Gbrice mentioned so the members can review and tweak.

Slow wins the race here with dedicated consistency.

You all are so great! Thank you for your willingness to help! Alright... as far as my diet, I do what I can.. mostly dictated by my 8month old.. breakfast - either 1/2 cup oatmeal, whole grain cereal, or cream of wheat. I've been using Jillian Micheals circuit training DVDs as I can't get back into the gym. They are 25 min of strength/cardio/abs training. Either that or I have a VERY steep set of 110 steps (I'm pretty sure that's the count) that go down the back of my house. I have been doing sets of down/up. Lunch is either chicken and a small salad or a cup of Greek lowfat yogurt. Dinner is about the same as that. Sometimes I alternate the chicken with another protein. During the day, I am either running the stores (fast walking... NOT shopping) with my son in his stroller (keeping him occupied is full time work!), or out moving around somewhere. I know it is not what I would consider the ideal for training. I used to be in the gym 6 days either weights or cardio or both. I do miss the gym.. but for right now I have to make so with what I have and be as creative as possible until I CAN get back in the gym. So, with all my little "obstacles" in the way (did I mention my age? UGH!). I do have a muscular build.. so I know I have good stuff underneath all this mess - - I've been there before. It's just alot harder to do at this stage in my life. But I will refuse to give up and settle for this.. which is why I'm here. So there you go... Again, thank you already for what you guys have given me so far! I appreciate it SO much.

Just a quick P.S.... Just looked at the two links you gave me, GGR... they are great! Is there a supplement out there that will help burn fat? I remember back in the day Hydroxycut and the like were (or seemed) decent.. but the ingredients are so regulated now. I didn't know if there was anything else out there that I could/should use for right now. I'll put my other stuff up until the time that you all recommend I use that.

    Thanks again!

Thanks, gbrice... I know that it is NOT very disciplined or organized at the moment.. that's why I'm here. I do have the discipline once I get going. I guess I'm discouraged by the present circumstances in a way. But, with a little (or alot) of help, I'll be on my way back to where I want to be.
    Thank you!

Might want to replace the cereal you are eating with Kashi GoLean. There are a few. The box which is simple and low sugar with hi protein.

Takes time to get this down but once you do? MAGIC HAPPENS. Will follow your progress.

note: corrected cereal brand above. It is Kashi not Ezekiel which I had earlier

L8 - not to be a pain but can you lay out a typical day so it's easy to read... my eyes hurt lol! i.e.:

    8am - meal 1: 1 whole egg, 2 whites, 1 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt, 1/2 cup oats - 26P/25C/7F - 350 calories

    11am - meal 2: 4oz chicken breast, 2 cups broccoli, 1tsp EVOO - 24P/5C/10F - 220 calories

    and so on...

Would make it much easier to work with, that's all.

Gbrice... sorry! Alright, lemme try it this way.
    7am - meal 1 - 1 cup oatmeal with 1Tbsp of peanut butter 7P/29C/7F - 200 cal

    10am - meal 2 - 2 whole eggs - 12P/2C/10F - 140 calories

    1pm - meal 3 - 1 cup brown rice, 2.5 oz chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli, 2 tbsp salsa - 31P/51C/5F - 439 calories

    3pm - meal 4 - 1 cup greek yogurt, 1 banana - 23P/48C/0F - 270 calories

    6pm - meal 5 - 1 cup brown rice, 2.5 oz chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli, 2 tbsp salsa - 31P/51C/5F - 439 calories

I vary these... but it is pretty close to what I do. How does this look? I'm also trying to drink close to a gallon of water a day. Here's a question I wanted to ask... Why is taking things like anavar and the like counterproductive when there is a higher BF? Is there an over the counter fat burner that even works? Inquiring minds want to know...
Thanks so much for looking at this for me.

No protein source here - just carbs and fat. What's the point? I'd ditch the PB. Keep the oats but make sure they're just that - oats. Not pre-packeted oatmeal with all the sugar. Add a lean protein source here - even if it's powder. I'd do a whole egg and a few whites here personally, but no biggie so long as you're getting some protein in

This meal - not enough protein! You're protein to fat ratio is nearly 50:50 - that should never be the case in a diet where the goal is to lose bodyfat! Make it 1 whole egg, and add 1/2 cup whites. Veggies would be nice too - can you saute up a cup of spinach or something green with this? Omelette style? Add 2 fish oil caps also

Forgive me, but we've had so many new female members here lately, i'm getting confused! Are you the one not currently weight training or something like that? Just wondering why all the carbs in this meal... 50g of carbs... even I don't have a meal with 50g carbs throughout my day! Also, this meal is not 31g protein; you're looking at 20g from the chicken at best - that's being very liberal. Probably closer to 16g.

carbs, carbs, carbs!!! Your diet is very carb heavy madam!! No way this can be plain greek yogurt, so make that change first. Then drop the banana; all sugar, not needed here. Add a couple fish oil caps here as well. Consider low fat cottage cheese as a superior alternative to greek yogurt.

carbs....... again! I love the chicken breast (but eat more of it) and broccoli though.

It looks like a carb overdose, especially for a female if i'm being blunt.

Well this is a good thing, continue!

Because anavar is an anabolic steroid and while I know it's considered 'mild' and 'safer' for women to use, it's an anabolic steroid nonetheless and if you don't know what you're doing, it's potentially harmful. Furthermore, it's extremely expensive and if you don't know how to diet to lose bodyfat (and with all due respect, based on the diet you posted above, you don't), the only thing you're going to lose on anavar is alot of money. The fundamentals of this game will do much more for you than AAS ever will.

Nothing worth doing IMO. You can make your own 'homemade' fat burner with OTC products. i.e. I make my own ECA stack (epehedrine, caffeine, aspirin), but much like AAS, if you don't know how to diet properly, a fat burner isn't going to do much at all for you.

I'd start by implementing the suggestions i've made above. We can tighten it from there, but at the moment your diet is protein light and carb heavy. A sure fire way to get fat. We need to get the protein up to a moderate amount, carbs down to around 100g or less (depends on training, etc), and fats relatively low as well.

    Hope this helps.

I'll get to work right away! I definitely see some (Alot!) things I need to get rid of... And fast. I never really stepped back & looked at all the carbs I was taking in. Probably hasn't helped my cause any! In answer to your question about training.. I am doing all I can at the present time... Mostly dvds at home & then fast walking outdoors with the stroller. Not exactly ideal.. But it's all I can do for now. Is an hour of cardio 5x a week enough? I'll keep you posted as I go.
Thank you for taking the time to do this for me. I appreciate it!

^^^ sounds good! I want to clarify that I am in no way, shape or form against carbs; they are not the enemy. However, given your goals you are definitely taking in too many. Carbs have a time and place in a diet where fat loss is the primary goal. Namely, 1st meal of the day, and pre/pwo ideally. Not saying this is the 'right' or only way, but there are reasons behind this timing.

Cardio - 60 mins 5x a week is definitely decent. The more, the better right now. Total body workouts would also be a great idea for you IMO.
