chicken vs red meat
I know chicken is lean, clean protein but man does it suck to eat. I am not struggling to loose weight. Im trying to gain it. So my question is would having a diet high in red meat be a bad thing? I will be eating chicken a couple times a week and ill throw some fish in there too. But instead of eating chicken everyday would red meat be ok for most of my meals?

Absolutely. Red meat is a great source of protein, naturally high in creatine, and the saturated fats do us some good as well. Having said that, i'd go for leaner cuts of steak, and lean ground beef as the fat content can add up fast, and we certainly don't want TOO much saturated in the diet.
Top round/sirloin is always a great choice of cut for steak. As for ground beef, I go for 95/5, but wouldn't go fattier than 93/7.
Hope this helps.

My diet is based around pork. Beef is my secondary protein source, and I throw in chicken and fish when I feel like it. And that is whether i'm 'bulking' or 'cutting'. In many instances, pork can be leaner than chicken. So I've long thrown out that bodybuilding folklore of choking down dry chicken breasts to get lean.

Amazing. Love hearing this since my new meal of late has been: grilled pork loin and was waiting to get in trouble for this but now realize it is a GREAT choice. Plus I can tell you this: I feel good on pork and even lighter. Feel it metabolizes in a different way and hard to explain but there is a different feeling about eating it.

I know what you mean. I've been buying thin sliced, super lean boneless center cut loin chops, and even then trimming the tiny bit of visible fat, and they're awesome!
*gasp*

hope you guys dont mind me poking in....
lean red meat is a great source of protein, creatine, and as much as we've been beaten to death about fat stuff, we gotta have
some fat too. i think a lot of us get so hell bent on not eating fat that it's like a 90% protein and little else.
and if you like chicken (which I do), man, there are so many ways to prepare it. go online and just look up recipes for different ways
to prepare it. you can definitely make it fit your palate, just gotta be ingenuitive.
now...i will say that eating red meat twice a day as part of your diet......no. unless you really like heart issues.
i always have lived by the aspect of chicken being the primary meat, and then peppering with red meat. because let's be honest,
red meat tastes great, and you definitely feel better after a big red meat meal.
as long as your not pounding home the red meat, you'll be fine. and what the others have said about pork is great advice
too. a balanced diet can be hard to realize at first, but if you take a day, sit down, write it out, prepare your meals
in advance....its so easy to follow a good plan and diet. it just takes more preparation.
just my 2.
