Get yourself some kitchen scales from tesco or Argos etc, then simply weigh out how much you want!Originally Posted by bavz01
Rya hello mate but for the time being roughly would u say 2 table Spoons would be the same as an average egg??? You from England??
Wales, I wouldnt have a clue tbh, i just seperate the egg from the white! I think it worked out cheaper than buying whites.Originally Posted by bavz01
Hopefully someone will be able to give you an answer
Get a digital set of scales from Amazon, about £30.
Put the shaker or blender on the scales and rest the scales to ZERO (so the shaker or blender is compensated for). Then pour in the egg whites, i think 100g is equal to 3 egg whites.
Cheers peeps
3 FULL dessert spoons will give you about 1 egg white from a bottle of whites.
EVERYBODY on this forum should have a set of digital food scales.
Agreed. I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Preci...0773189&sr=8-5
In the US we have a brand of Egg whites called "Egg Beaters" and 1/4 cup or 61 grams is 30 cal 0 fat, 1 carb and 6g protein. It says on the container "1/4 cup Egg Beaters is one large egg"
Now, it's not pure egg whites but it contains very little (<1%) other ingredients and the macros are good. I refuse to throw away yolks from actual eggs and when I have real eggs I eat the yolk.
LOL. You UK guys are always making jokes about how ridiculous it is that we measure things in "cups" but sometimes it's a lot more convenient than having to weigh everything.
3 Tablespoons of bottled egg white = 1 large egg white
or
1/5 cup of bottled egg white = 1 large egg white
That means getting out a measuring cup and dirtying it and then having to wash it. It's much more convenient to just add the amount you want to where ever you are going to cook/consume and then you're done. This is less "measuring" than pulling out a measuring cup if you ask me.
Stem my little boy decided he wanted 2 play with my scales in the bath!!!!!!Originally Posted by SteM
Mine come in 500ml cartons, I just use 1/3 of a carton or 1/2 depending on my diet needs. Apaprently 500ml=aprox 16 egg whites according to the label.
Mine come in a 500g carton, so hard to come by in England even the lady in the shop didn't even no they sold um!!! £3.20 for a little carton seem quite pricey
Yea, much cheaper to just buy eggs and seperate yourself, if you go with the assumption that 3 eggs = 100g then 500g = 15 eggs... 18 eggs at Morrisons is £1.50, so half the price for very little effort involved, plus you get the option of throwing a yolk in!, given how many eggs you'll be eating the savings will soon add up!Originally Posted by bavz01

Get eggs from a farm, their cheap usually, no matter where you are in the world.
Also see if they have Raw Milk.
I'm sure this has been answered already (I haven't read the responses, so sorry for any redundancy) - but 2tbsp of liquid egg whites equals 1 egg white - not 1 whole egg. I want to make that distinction.
