    Eating after Workout

So I am going to be adding cardio to my evening workouts to increase my fat burn. Should I have my post workout meal before I do the hour of low-med intensity cardio while my muscles are still pumped from lifting? Or is it cool to wait till im completely done? Thanks in advance.

For cutting- go right into the cardio after lifting. Post workout meal right after the cardio is done

I was a hungry mofo after an hour of shoulders, calves, and abs then 45 minutes of cardio.

I looked/sounded a lot like Chris Farley off the Saturday Night Live skits when I hit the fridge. Good thing I had prepped the meal before I went to the gym.

Thanks again guys for the feedback. Awesome to have a good reliable source of information like this.

How come the low intensity? Why not HIIT if it's in the afternoon?

Definitely post-cardio. Don't worry about the 'anabolic window'; it will not 'magically' close during your cardio session!

And Dr Pepper makes a good point; I'd consider a mix of HIIT and steady state PWO. 10-15 of HIIT followed by 20-30 of moderate intensity steady state. Something to think about. Good luck!!

Yeah I know the opinions seem to vary and lean towards the HIIT in the afternoon if not fasted. And I am sure that it would fit me even better being a marathon runner. I guess I've tended to see the guys lifting do the longer duration low intensity. I do a fair amount of HIIT, generally repeats and running at or above 6% on the treadmill, but that's usually part of my running training to improve my oxygen utilization.

If it makes up for it, I just finished a ten mile fasted run.
