The method that most use now, "flash freezing", makes them almost identical to fresh. How you prepare the vegetables is where you have to be concerned in losing vitamins or adding calories/fat.

I usually buy frozen veggies but I was just wondering about salt intake, is this high, or don't worry about it.

Sicko I usually put the frozen veg in some water and microwave it for 5mins or so! This is fine yeah? No vitamin loss with this method?

just another quick question, when ON, do u minimize salt and what do you normally keep your salt levels under for the day?

    Thanks for the help

Frozen veggies should have very little if any added salt in them.
General rule to go by with veggie cooking is the less the better. the preferred method for least amount of vitamins lost would be steaming, or blanching. the longer the veggie sits in water the more nutrients leave the veggie.
Salt intake is important, but I like to limit it to what I can control myself. Sea salt or kosher salt only for me. If you stay away from processed foods sodium intake is easy to control. BTW salt causes your body to retain water giving you a bloated look, and too much has detrimental affects on your blood pressure which should be monitored while on cycle.

Too easy thanks guys, it's reassuring! Yeah sicko that's why I was asking about salt intake, I want to minimize water retention. My only problem with the frozen food was the salt!

    Cheers
