Bulking for loose skin.
Hello,
I am seeking some advice about loose skin..
My brother use to be an athletic person until he started taking drugs which made him get very skinny, after he quit and had the same eating habits as marijuana takers have he went up to 130 kgs by eating 3 pies a day, chocolate, chips, lollies in the last year or so he has got down to 73 kg (rather drastic results) and has cut arms, cut legs but his lower stomach seems to have an excess of skin when he pulls it up you can see he has a v cut with veins but i am not sure if its all loose skin perhaps it is some fat also.
As much as I dislike my brother, I know this damages his self esteem.. I have been doing some research but need some facts
Will he benefit from bulking, will his skin fill out ?
Should he cut back on cardio (he seems to do alot of this)
What kind of exercise techniques could help his loose skin eg.. deadlifts, squats
advice would be much appreciated
I will try and suss out pics and stats

Well that's not near as bad as I thought it was gonna be. From what I can see...he just needs to drop more body fat. He's just carrying his fat in his lower ab area. Alot of guys hold BF there. Cardio and Diet with some resistance training and he should be G2G.
I thought you meant something like this......

"Bulking" won't really do much in terms of tightening that area. He is young still, and that alone should be reason not to worry. It is not that badly stretched that it shouldn't tighten up over the next year or so.
Does he have any goals in mind besides just this issue? (its mainly just a bit of fat, not stretched skin btw)

Similar to the diet your are on but with 800 or so more cals. Ramp the cals up slowly. If he doesnt eat enough, it will stop him from losing fat, especially with alot of cardio. His body will go into starvation mode and deplete muscle mass, as this is more energy sapping than fat. So if he eats too little, hie body is going to go "I'm not getting enough energy, I better hold onto fat for energy source and I'll drop the muscle because I'm not using it and it's taking so much of my bodies energy to have"
He needs to do weights, this will do two things-make him look more toned(urgh I hate that word) and burn cals just sitting there.
You can't target fat loss to a certain area, that is a myth, one that is falsely used to sell ab rockers lol.
As he gets older his body, (being male) will tend to hold fat in stomach and lower back.
If you would like I can write up a basic weights program and diet for him if he's keen?
