Me and my fiance just bought one of those scales with the bf percentage on it and needless to say were not impressed. ive gained like 10 percent bf im at 32% and she is at 36% She just had twins a year ago and lost alot of her weight she's the weight she was before getting pregnant, my question is we need some schooling on when and what to eat. Im 6'4 250 pounds she is 5'4 137 pounds. I go to the grocery store and just look around trying to think of healthy stuff neither one of us is a great cook, so i bought some frozen boneless skinless chicken to put in the over and eat through out the day, i was looking for tips on what else is a quick good meal to have should i get protein bars and if so should she eat them also? My plan was to start going to the gym and instead of doing heavy lifting do cardio for about 45 minutes and that heart rate calculation of 220-age and so on, then lifting weights in high reps for her also. I dont know if im being to vague on what im looking for but we would both like our bf percentage down to around 15% because were getting married this year and no one wants to look back at wedding footage and be embarrassed. thanks in advance.

At the beginning of last year I had been out of the gym for six years (injury) and was at 36% bodyfat. I got back in the gym, worked hard all year and got down into the teens, plus put on a respectable amount of muscle. It didn't take me all year to lose the fat, but I did it in phases throughout the year.

You will probably need more precise advice than you ask for, but there is some quick stuff:

I cut my diet down to 2000 calories, and later 1800 calories. You will both need to figure out what you target calories should be.

If you don't like to cook, you can bake 10 pounds of chicken at a time and throw it into a one-gallon freezer bag in the fridge. It is good for a week, so it is easy to reheat any time. I also cook a bunch of rice and throw it in a big plastic tub. The rest is cooked on the fly during the day.

    Breakfast:
    eggs and oatmeal

    Snack:
    Chicken and almonds

    Lunch:
    Chicken, rice and asparagus

    Snack:
    Chicken and almonds

    Dinner:
    Fish, asparagus, spinich salad

    Before bed:
    Protein shake or cottage cheese

Everyone needs to figure out their portions to fit their daily calories. It is also important to get at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight (some say lean body mass) if you are lifting heavy.

If you want things to take good, well, then I am NO help. Heh. I eat the same thing every day and it is all bland. That keeps me from wanting to eat more. It becomes a schedule rather than enjoyable, so I am not always thinking about food.

Also some good foods to eat are, oats, egg whites, chicken breast, fiberous veggies, fish, lean beef.. There's heaps but stick to protein and veggies with complex carbs morning, before and after training.

Be careful with those scales that read bf%. I have one of those and according to the scale everyday my body fat changes quite a bit.

Mine says I have something like 50% BF. It is old, and I don't remember if it was accurate when it was new.
