Nutrition textbook is behind the curve!!!!

Hey guys. I am taking a first year nutrition class at my university for an elective and I have ran into several problems. I consider myself to have a pretty good understanding of nutrition and I keep up with the latest new facts. Anyways, my nutrition textbook, as well as my Ph.D teacher, says that non-hydrogentated margarine is healthier than regular dairy butter due to its lower saturated fat content. But I e-mailed her saying that saturated fats are part of a healthy diet and essential to a bodybuilder for several reasons (TESTOSTERONE!!). She retorted that active individuals and athletes don't need to eat different from regular everyday people. That includes protein, carbs, fats, cholesterol, and vitamins and minerals! I almost cried. The textbook also says no more than 4 egg yolks per week no matter your age or health condition as well as protein powders are useless and if you want whey protein, a cup of milk has 1.5 grams! Can someone help me understand? I'm dying here!

This I exactly what I've done. My nutrition courses have all been based around "government recommendations". These are crap, nuff said.

The government needs to keep their noses... Never mind I won't rant here.
