    Liquid only breakfast

I have a friend who is trying to lose weight and bodybuild. I've advised him he needs substance rather liquid only.
    Here's his drink:
Scoop of protein, 4 egg whites, 1/4 cooked oatmeal, 4 strawberries, 8oz fat free milk.

    Thoughts on this?

I wouldnt quite call that liquid only. Its not terrible but i personally do not feel as full from shakes, whether it be blended food or powder, as i do from sitting down and eating solid food.

If he is blending that up he is practically eating solid food but just chewing it before it ever reaches his mouth

i blend my oats and sometimes brown rice and add protein power in a pinch. Granted, choking down blended up brown rice is pretty rough

Every morning I have oats, 2 whites and a blend of protein in a shake. Shake it up and chew and swallow.

That's not a liquid shake. There is no problem with grinding up food just eating them whole will be more satiating

i have a scoop of protein, egg whites, oats, and a banana in a blender.
60g carbs, 45, protein, and a couple fat
I think this is a decent breakfast and with a cup of coffee it keeps me going for a couple hours

Nothing wrong with the meal in terms of it being liquid vs solid.

If I were cutting, I'd drop the milk and replace with water, and I'd also swap the strawberries for a more nutritious berry - e.g. blueberries. Just my preference.

Agreed! Besides, strawberries aren't real berries anyway! 4 days out of 7 I liquidise my breakfast, oats, egg whites and protein powder!

What he is having is much better than just a plain whey protein shake. If cutting def get rid of the milk

Haha yeah no green vegies in my breakfast especially not a blended one. I could not even imagine a few heads of broccoli mixed in with my eggs and oats

lol, x2! In all fairness though, TR is an old man - by the time he posted his comment, he probably forget he was posting about breakfast. Damn alzheimer's!!!

I use Macro Greens (and Miracle Reds) from Macro Life Naturals, and as you say, I take them separately from my meals. Tasty little treat when mixed with sugar free grape drink!
