you consume all of your calories in 6 hours, then 18 hour fasting.
i think your supposed to have bcaa, and green tea, and water during fasting
beyond that i dont know how it works

I lost 30 lbs IF'ing in about 2 months. Now making nice "lean gains". Eat in an 8 hr window. Train fasted w/BCAA, schedule permitting (mine doesn't). Eat 25% calories pre workout meal. 50% calories post workout. Still gotta eat clean. Still gotta do the work. But I am personally getting better results than ever.
