Stupid chicken?
Ok, I know that fried chicken is not good for you. But I love it! Other than fat and calories is fried chicken still good for protein? If I eat a chicken sandwith is getting fried really that much worse?
If you can't respond without being a sarcastic azz, then please do not respond

are you frying it yourself or going out for KFC?
In looking at nutritional data on it, it seems that in 130g of fried breaded chicken there are 300 cals and 149 cals are from fat.
I would say no if you are dieting and or trying to get lean, etc. If you love it that much use it as your cheat meal.
Bottom line is: not the healthiest choice, depends on goals, if you have to do....do it in moderation, were all going to die of something.....why not be happy....imo
good luck

This is an interesting and legit question, I have no misconceptions about eating fried chicken from a resturant but why couldn't you fry some chicken in olive oil or coconut oil and make your own healthy breading? Is it possible to do in a healthy way?

Although I have never tried this one my friends, who happens to be a chemist, told me that pineapple juice mimics frying oil extremely well. It just gives your food a sweeter taste.
I will try it soon.

skinless chicken and some garlic in a little olive oil....do it often. We need some olive oil in our diets. It is good for you. Especially if you eat super clean.
I say absolutely. Breading...hmmm.....i say no way to that. but like i said above....use it to cheat.

You dont need olive oil... it happens to be omega 6 heavy like most everything in this world... if remember correctly its something like 10-1... You really wanna stick to flax oil/macadamia nut oil and krill/fish oils... Not saying olive oil is bad for you but excesses will have an inflammatory effect just like any other fats...

we don't NEED olive oil correct, we don't NEED meat either as every vegan out there is trying to prove to us everyday.
I am just saying olive oil is an excellent part of any daily diet. NOT EXCESS AMOUNTS EITHER. You can't deny the great
properties of it thought like lowering your LDL and raising your HDL and also helps protect the arteries from plaque build up and
therefore helps in preventing heart disease. Many studies and stats have been done on this and in the Mediterranean region the mortality rate
due to heart disease is much lower than the the US and other countries because of their high mono-unsaturated intake.
I usually grill or bake my chicken with no oil. I love to saute with a little olive oil and garlic with some of my sea food choices though.

Sorry brother not being defensive at all. I was just further explaining some good properties of olive oil to the guy who originally posted this as he was asking about fried chicken. I figured he may be interested in a little more.
We have def. beat up the olive oil topic tonight.

So grape seed oil won't degrade at high temps? As far as breading for fried chicken, there has to be something healthy that can be used and would fit within macros, this stuff should prolly be in the recipe section.

When it comes to frying it is difficult to say which one is good due to the high heat degrading the healthy fats. The food will absorb a good amount of the oil with the healthy fats oxidizing and becoming useless. Therefore all you are left with is your bad fats being absorbed

when you burn meat, like bacon, I read quite some years ago that the residual carbon left behind may also contain some carcinogens
