    What do you eat before...a Workout ?

    I've been seeing guys at the gym downing peanut butter (or something that looks like some kinda butter spread) before the workout.

    Its somekinda spread...but its not peanut butter.

    I usually down a banana with a few walnuts, cup of coffee with a shot of Redline (or 2 shots...i forget now).

    I thought Carbs were best before a workout...but maybe i'm wrong.

    About an 1 - 1.5 hours before workout I eat:
    8 egg whites
    1 cup grilled veggies
    2 cups of oat with 2 cups skim milk. (Like a cereal) w/sugar free honey!

    I don't usually do anything immediatly before workout because this gives me plenty of energy. If it didn't I would pop some ECA and hold on tight.

    about 90 mins b4 i lift, 1c green beans, 1c broccoli, 4 oz chicken, 4 oz beef, lean 93/7, .5 cup cashews.
    about 30 mins b4 i lift, i take 2 scoops evogen evp.
    during workout drink .5-1 full gallon of water.

    carbs are good, but the right carbs is what matters. I used to live off the carb up rule b4 workouts, so daily id smash all types of junk food b4 working out. skittles, m/ms, doritos etc. <----bad business. i "fat up" instead of carb now. using fats to fuel workouts.

    about 90 mins out i have chicken breast and aromatic rice blend, then cup of coffee, then 10 mins before i have a cup of water with bcaa, arginine and b-alanine

    1 cup pasta or brown rice, 1 cup very lean turkey chili.

    I've found though, that I like at least an hour, more like two, before I work out. Seems to settle more, and I get more energy out of it.

    yeah...i think i'm gonna try something different. I like some of these ideas...maybe Half-dozen eggs with a little starch....1 hr out.

    I usually eat 1-1.5hrs prior...a full meal of chicken or fish with roasted potatoes (starch doesn't bother me and my waste is lean so i can get away with it...so far) and a Salad or some Raw Veggie.

    Then....15 mins before, while drivin to the Gym...take my banana and coffee plus my 2-3 shots of Redline. I usually hit 2 body parts...and 20 mins of cadio...or 3 body parts with no cardio....NO STOP, with little rest between sets. Just enough to catch my breath. I can usually get 10-15 set per body part...if i don't BS around. I get it done in 1hr or 1hr 15 mins.

    Lately, i've been seeing guys at my Gym sipping some light whey protein while pumping iron.

    Some of those ideas on that link look good too!

    BTW...that Redline seems to work for me....but i just recently tried Endorush and that chit...is way over the top. 2-3 shots is all i need for 60 mins of Blasting !
