    Alcohol while on diet

    Im on a cutting diet right now and I was just wondering if its ok to drink one day out of the week will it have any affect on my diet. It's only one day and I probably might just have only about 6-8 drinks. If anyone has advice for me please let me know. Thanks

    It's def gonna slow your progress, but trust me I understand that sometimes you just wanna have fun
    I'd just make sure that if you drink, keep the cals as low as possible meaning rather 2 vodka or something than 15beer. Also beer bloats the sh*t Out of me!
    And make sure you only drink while out, we all know how easily it can happen that when you had some alcohol you just dont care about your diet anymore and stuff yourself with whatever food you get...dangerous

    You shouldnt really be drinking.. but if you need to vodka, soda and lime would be my choice..

    i have read some where and i can remember where. that alchohol stop fat burn and it alomost like starting over the next day.

    Right since its toxic to the body its first priority is to get it out again, so for the time your body does this cleaning process you dont burn fat, it is paused kind of. Thats why many say Not to eat a lot before drinking and keep it very clean, because with a huge meal in your gut when you get drunk, guess where its gonna go

    Alcohol is my down fall. However I started to focus and try and lose some fat and I have not had a drop since February 11th. And I was a HUGE beer drinker.

    This is pretty much true. Alcohol has 7cal per gram and as long as alcohol is present in the body it will be the preferred fuel source. ie. when alcohol is present glucose and fats will not be used as energy sources, they will be stored while your body burns the alcohol for fuel first.

    For sure it's going to effect you but if you're not planning on going pro then just eat clean the rest of the week....I used to drink quite a bit back in the day and would still stay around 6-7%....guess it just depends how hard you work and how well you keep your diet the rest of the week

    Good choice. A couple of my older friends who arent in the best shape drink pretty much only vodka soda. One was a prolific beer drinker, but had to switch to something with a much lower calorie content because he doesnt exercise and he turned to vodka soda.

    I've continued to drop while drinking a decent amount (4-6 drinks) one night a week. I just lock down my diet and bust ass in the gym the rest of the week. Not competitive or anything but I'm reaching my goals.
