$100 rice maker.. and brown rice is mushy. wtf!
i followed the directions on my brand new rice maker and my brown rice came out looking like a blob of mush. what am i doing wrong.. i read that your supposed to soak or wash it or something like that before you put it into the rice maker?
please help me out

Mushy rice is overcooked rice. Brown rice cooks better boiled vs. steamed like white rice.

100 bucks for a contraption that does the same thing a sauce pan + lid will do? if u still have the receipt id take it back...

40 bucks has brown rice setting and as long as I put in the right water/rice ammounts it comes out perfect every time.Last edited by bikeral; 03-22-2012 at 09:54 AM.

I like having a rice cooker, because my wife is one of them there orientals....and its cooked everyday...so much she has to buy the huge bag of rice from the asian store...i would say her diet is composed 80% carbs 15%protein 5% fat............ and shes still a 00/0/XS ... and 105 pounds.... argh!
