    Could This Work?

My father currently is trying extremely hard to lose all the weight he has put on over the years. My sister will be getting married within the next year, so he is trying to lose the weight for the wedding. Here is my question. He read an article a little while back, which I can not seem to find for the life of me, where a man ran an experiment on himself. I read this article as well. The man ate 500 calories under his maintenance, but he ate whatever it is that pleased him. From fast food, to ice cream, so long as it stayed under his daily limit. The man lost TONS of weight. He also was regularly checked by his physician, who showed that his health actually increased. His blood pressure, which was always high, went into the normal range. His cholesterol as well. His overall health was better than it had ever been.

For the last month or so, my father has only been counting his calories, and has dropped 15 pounds so far. He looks great!! Here's my concern. Would it be possible for someone who is looking to lose the fat, be able to just count calories and while dropping weight, be able to maintain the lbm gained? This would also involve eating enough protein, so long as you do not pass your daily calorie intake. Carbs and fat, do not matter in this situation.

    ^^ Thanks man!

Just curious if someone has tried it or if it could work. After all, the major way for fat loss is to create a calorie deficit
