    Why no keto?

I am thinking of cutting here soon for the summer. I read the "how to bulk" thread and had great results with following the guidelines. I just recently read the "how to cut" thread but it advises against keto. Could someone help explain to me why keto isn't a good option to get shredded? The thread didn't go into detail. Just trying to learn here. Thanks guys!

Seems like it was the opinion of the OP, so nobody can really answer why he feels that way except him. Keto certainly isn't ideal for adding mass, so what else would it good for?

Personally, I don't like it and have never done well with keto diets. I never seem to break through that initial 'crappy' feeling - i'm tired, weak, irritable, and worst of all I lost quite a bit of LBM and my bodyfat stayed pretty much the same. For me, carb cycling is MUCH more efficient. However if I had to choose a keto 'flavor', i'd go with the Dave Palumbo approach vs. CKD/TKD etc.

Note that plenty of people, some of whom I know, do very well with keto dieting. It's just not for everyone. You have to learn for yourself what works for you, and what doesn't, through trial and error.

You look great man. Why are you doing Palumbo? Are you looking to get leaner?

Note you don't have to follow Palumbo's diet (i.e. shakes, etc) imo - just the outline and structure of his diet.

That's my buddy in the picture that just finished the diet in that pic. He is like 5'9" 170lbs in that pic. He stopped when he started getting veins in his abs.

I'm on week five I started 6'3" 271 at about 20%. I'm down to 235-240 depending on day at about 12-13% making good progress I think another 10-12 weeks I'll be where I want to be just in time for boating season
