    Diet for the working man?

I have a job where it is hard to have good, healthy, time consuming meals. Ideally i'd like to get 6-8 meals a day with a 40/40/20 marco split and around 1900-2000 cal a day.

    my day looks like this

    04:30am wake-up
    06:00am start work
08:00am 15min break (good chance for a meal)
10:00am 15min break (another chance to eat)
    12noon 30min lunch
    02:30pm off work
    ~6:00pm gym
try to be in bed by 10:00pm

I'm just curious as to if some of you have similar hard times getting proper meals and what kind of things you have found to eat.

I have a hard time eating during work unless its something easy.. "on-the-go" type of foods. (bag of veggies, shake) and on top of that I have a hard time preparing things to take to eat and end up eating stuff thats bad from a gas station or something on the run. also im not usually at a central location where i could store food so things that I could throw in a lunch box are nice. I do go back to a shop for lunch and start there every morning.

thanks I hope someone has some ideas for me

I have the same problem with my job. I've found that chicken breast and lean cuts of steak are great for your proteins. You can just pick it up and eat it. Veggies like raw broccoli work the same way. As for carbs I stick to oats and sweet potatoes because even though you have to use a fork or spoon you can get it down fast in larger bites.

You need to pack you a cooler and prepare a meal for every break.
Good time for a protein shake to since some are only 15 min breaks.

Can you carry a cooler bag with you? If so this is what I do maybe it helps.
I have one of those blue ice packs that I reuse by just freezing after each use.
I purchased three compartment tupperware type containers and I put 2 chicken breast(about 6oz) 3/4 cup brown rice and half cup veggies.
I have 2 of these a day. Then I have 1 meal every day that consists of 6.4 oz pouch of albacore tuna and 2 rice cakes. Easy to pack these and all you need is a plastic fork to eat. If you precut the chicken you can eat that with a fork as well. 15mins should be plenty of time. That would cover 8am-10AM-12PM meals.
Even if I go out on the weekends and I know I'll be out past my next feeding I take my cooler with me with same setup.
    Hope this helps.

Most of us work here too and your problem is shared by many of us. You can do it if you want to . I prepare my meals on a day off. Everything in air tight containers with good seal so stays fresh all week. I too can eat alot in a short period of time...almost don't have time to breathe...which is not the best way to eat for digestive track, but is what it is.

To make it really easy, I eat almost the same food every meal, every day. I just don't have time to redo macros...I had to find ways to make it easier on me...YOU CAN Do it too!!! best of luck!!!

tuna fish in can, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, 0% fat greek yogart, steamable veggies, feash fruit, buy in bulk!! avoid processed food. There are some really good sticky notes with tons of info on how to do this....but it does take some effort....

Bikeral, I really like that plan. It is possible for sure to take along a cooler and I really appreciate the specific examples! I have been juicing vegi's with a little fruit and drinking those a lot but that doesn't do much for my macros.. Realistically probably nothing.. I love the pouches of tuna with a little mustard. I'm not much of a cook but all the examples you guys have given me seem very simple.

Thanks a lot everyone. Also what is your opinion on the juice?

Glad that was helpful. I usually cook 3-4 days worth in advance. Grill all my chicken outside now,use a rice cooker to make rice, and just buy those steamer veggie bags you throw in the microwave. Does not take me more than 60-90 mins to get it done.
