    Meal timing

I once read where u should separate ur protein meals from ur carbs meals. The "wisdom" behind that was it was inefficient for the body to absorb carbs, protein and fats at the same time. Is this still the conventional wisdom?

never heard of protein and carb separation.. have heard of carb and fat separation.. u wanna have carbs and protein together.. i believe theres alot of debate about meal timing.. i dont know for sure but try to keep high amts of fat separate from high amts of carbs.. of course i try not to eat high amts of fat anyways..

when in doubt i always prefer to err to the side of caution

You probably mean fat and carb separation. A lot of us used to preach that around here, me included, but most if not all of us have changed our viewpoint on this. There is nothing wrong with consuming them together.

For me personally however, I prefer to have one dominant over the other. e.g. I wouldn't have a meal with 25g of fat and 80g carbs. I keep carbs high/fats low, or carbs low/fats moderate. Protein in every meal.
