    Calorie surplus + Cardio

Hey guys, something crossed my mind yesterday and i was wondering
if i was to add 1000 calories on top of my tdee and do 500 calories worth of cardio daily, could i burn fat but still put on around 2pounds of muscle a week as you would just by adding 500 calories extra daily?

You can eat 1000calories extra a day and your not going to put on 2lbs of muscle lol that's not how it works your body can only use so much then it will store as fat.

You're using cardio to cut a 1000 calore surplus to 500. It's still 500 over TDEE... so why would that allow you to burn fat? You may burn fat during your cardio session, afterwards (the afterburn), etc. but at the end of the day (I mean that figuratively, not literally) you're still eating at a surplus. Very unlikely you will burn bodyfat over the long term.

PS - the above is crude, but true. 2lbs of lean tissue per week is insanely unrealistic. You can put on 2lbs a week if you really tried, but a majority of that would be fat. Realize that most guys other than complete newbs are lucky to put on a few lbs. a year if natural.

Ahh yeah i see, sorry i wrote it wrong it was 1 pound per week and it didn't state that it was muscle just weight (going by LeanMeOut's sticky post on bulking)
i just thought you would still be burning fat with the cardio thats all
i think ill just stick to bulking for now and worry about burning fat later, thanks for the replies
