I know a few genetic freaks who go through life at 6% without killing themselves with cardio or diet year round.

How is the bodyfat measured? And for what period would you want to stay at said bodyfat?

If you dropped below a true 3% you would likely die. Does that help?

I do too.... and I hate them!!!

Actually, I hate guys who can get through life at a modest 10% lol!! God knows I haven't been able to accomplish that yet.

OP - I believe it's individualistic. One person might be perfectly fine at 6% while another person might get sick. Answer - get as low as you can/where you want to be, and try to maintain it. If you cannot (through no fault of your own) and/or you're feeling weak, getting sick, etc. the that's likely not a comfortable bodyfat for you.

For the average guy, I think 6-8% year-round is probably the lowest I'd suggest.

But, really it depends on the individual... and how restrictive they need to be to get to and maintain said bodyfat percentage.

For me, I can sit around at 8-12 without cardio (providing that I'm training hard).

Most of the injuries I've sustained (during contest preps) occur when I'm at and below 6%. So, for me, I'd have to say that walking around below 6% year round might be a health risk.

Being too lean, and being too heavy present an equal risk for me.

Another problem I have is loose skin I just did my body fat I'm weighting in at 182lbs my body fat says its 5.2% but i just don't look it because of the loose skin if you don't believe me I'll tell u my measurements and work it out for yourself.

But because of the loose skin I don't look it and it's winding me up ?

Which leads me on to my other question how do I go about doing my maintenance plan?? Any tips would help and I'll get one drawn up so you can have a look at it

    Cheers

Skinfold measurements may indicate 5%bf but the person doing the pinching may not be exact.. Dont take offense bro just giving my opinion.. My wife does mine and it says im 7.8%bf .. Im prob closer to 9-10%.. she doesnt pinch hard enuff i believe..

U dont accidentally fall into 5%bf ... Just my opinion.. Where r ur pics previously posted?

Tough to tell from one pic that looks like 10%. Would need different angles and body parts. Stick some new ones up.

    Do you feel unhealthy?

Loose skin, lower abs, I see it. I have loose skin everywhere. Figure I need to put on 40lbs of muscle to sort mine out!

  32. #32

9 point is great and cost effective if the pincher knows what they are doing. Otherwise bod pod if you have one in your area and want to pay for it.
