What in your opinion is the best macro nutrient split for cutting BF? Also, do you think it is possible to gain muscle mass/strength while using that split?
Forgot to add all ratios are in Protein/Carbs/Fat.
40/40/20
50/30/20
60/20/20
55/35/10

50/30/20 seems to be close to what I believe would be a great cutting split. As long as it's about 1.5g of protein per lean lb.
I do believe it is possible to gain some muscle mass/strength but I would be looking more towards maintaining the muscle while shedding the fat.
I personally prefer 40/40/20 or 50/30/20 .
No such thing as a best split. Everyone's body is different which means different tolerance levels to Carbs for example. If there truely was a cookie-cutter diet then everyone would be using it. The important factors are your choice of foods (ie Oats instead of White bread, and Lean Meats instead of Coldcut Sandwhich meats, etc), total calories, and a relatively high protein integration based on yourself. Furthermore, cardio in addition to weightlifting will also play it's part in your cutting progress.
For myself 60/20/20 works well.. From wat ive read keeping carbs at or under 20% total cals is optimal for fat mobilization and oxidation.. High protein helps preserve LBM while at a deficit..
I've been doing about 45/35/20 and its worked for me so far. If I go too low on the carbs I lose steam in my workouts.
There is no best or ideal split. Every person is an individual and as such, will have his or her own individual needs. Some people can cut and eat carbs in nearly every meal; the simple caloric deficit is enough for them. For me, keeping carbs focused around my workout window seems to be best. Hence, a split with a relatively low carb macro is ideal for me.
