new job.. questions on the 9-5 diet

well i got a new job working from 8am-430pm every weekday, i hit the gym 90 min after i eat when i get home.. also i wake up at 6 am for cadio because i dont have time for cardio later in the day due to me having to be in bed by ten, also i dont like doing cardio with weight training. i feel as if im going to lose gains if i don't change something, im only able to get 1 meal for post workout before i have to hit the hay and go into fasting for 8 hours... question is, all i can eat at work 90 min before id hit the gym is a protein bar, would that be enough for a pre workout meal? or i could go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5 and hit the gym .. which would be optimal for growth?

Time of day for optimal growth is, IMO, irrelevant. If you train in the morning or evening you just need to optimise your pre workot meal. If you have time to eat a bar do you have time to drink a shake of powdered oats maybe with some whey and cottage cheese or a whey/casein blend? Or munch on something real on your way home and then go to the gym? Gbrice has an awesome morning pre workout shake in his thread somewhere.

What time do you finish your workout? If you are worried about only getting 1 meal in after working out you could do what I do - I finish an evening workout at 9 and immediately have my PWO nutrition followed by a carb free meal an hour later, at 10pm, which is my bedtime.
