Another member gave me the suggestion of throwing some oats in my protein shakes. However, im finding it hard to fit a whole cup of oats in a shake. Is it possible to use oat bran instead?

Oat bran is different to oats, it is simply the outer husk and has barely any nutritional value other than fibre.Originally Posted by teacherman
Powder your oats, get a bigger shaker or make your oats into porridge and eat them.

i found wehn i use a full cup if i mix it early enough and let is sit at least 45 min. it get softer and can fill cup better
Throw the oats into a food processor n grind em up in to powder.. Works/tastes great
I drink 2 protein shakes/day with 1 cup of oats in each.. goes down great n the oats are almost tasteless, just makes the shake thick
I just get the old fashioned Quaker oats, If you use a full cup and it gets to mushy try to add more liquid.
My shake looks like this -
1 cup liquid egg whites - 150cals 0f 0c 30p
1 Scoop Whey Protein - 120cals 1f 3c 24p
1/2cup Oats - 150cals 3f 27c 5p
(scoop of glutamine)
Totals - 420cals 4f 30c 59p
Taste great. Like I mentioned above, if it's to thick from the oats and protein powder I just add a little bit more water.
gonna have to try that johnny, what do egg whites taste like raw... not sure if i could stomach it
