I would say it depends on how much butter and salt you use. If your going for Mr. Olympia then I would say no. But if that is not your goal then you must give yourself some satisfaction. Just don't go overboard. This is my opinion only.

I'm getting ready to throw some tri tip on the Q. marinated in organic non salt seasoning (no, not a big "organic" fan, but it's in the pantry), and olive oil. the olive oil keeps the meat from drying out, keeps it juicy, keeps it from sticking to the grill, and adds flavor. wouldn't mind adding some of those veggies to the mix, but I'm out and the woman is at the gym right now, so I'm on my own.

problem with corn is the stuff don't like to digest....

you'll get used to it. a whole new mindset. for bfast, i usually eat a half cup of oatmeal (dry then cooked), to that i add 4 over easy eggs and two table spoons of salsa, all mixed up. not to bad. two hours later, i do it again. an hour later, i'm at the gym. some of the food does get monotonous (spelling?) but I'd rather that than a fat fuk

i buy only saltless butter and if I add salt its always sea salt... try hymalian or some other erea they have diff tastes to them

but I reach for oil first ~oils come from whatever can be pressed...so try different oils than olive, my fav is seseame seed, (makes veggies taste like they are from chineese rest) lemon or lime

I wouldn't worry too much about the salt unless you're training for a competition... and seeing as you're using butter, i'm going to venture to guess you're not!

Butter is way high in saturated fat and not a healthy choice. I'd go with EVOO, or if you like the butter flavor (I do), look into a butter spray like 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' or something of the like.

EVOO = extra virgin olive oil.

Damn near everything "healthy" tastes like ass.

    No butter - Olive oil

    No Potatoes - sweet potatoes(ewww)

Oats(I can't even eat any more oats, I just drink them)

No white rice - plain brown rice

    Strained ground beef(ugggh)

But, the bottom line is: Do you want to eat foods you like that taste good? Or look good?

Very very few people can eat garbage and look real good.

But. . . . . On the positive note, when you do have that cheat meal - it tastes that much better.

There are definitely ways to spice up otherwise bland food. Personally, I wouldn't stress much over white rice vs. brown, or white potatoes vs. sweet. I know this goes against how 90% of the board feels... but then again most of this is just parroted anyway (not saying you samson) with no true understanding of why they're even recommending it...

    Yep...

    Agree with this 100%....

Forget all this carb choice bullshit... Unless your eating sugary sweets all day it doesnt matter too much.

Welly well. . . . This again goes against all the shit I have been seeing for ages.

    Fvck if I know. . . .

But, the bottom line is the cleaner the better.

I usually make my own judgements of what works for me. I.E. Eating pizza and McD's is done by land whales, eating oats, chicken and other mostly lean foods will net a pretty damn good physique overall.
