    Feeling...ummm....weird/off. Any insight?

    I'm on a cutting diet high-protein low-carb low fats 60/20/20.

Prior to this diet I was consuming roughly 2 cokes a day plus some kind of sweet whether it be a cookie a doughnut etc along with my normal daily intake of carbs proteins and fats.

I definitely have not been on this diet long enough to start complaining about how I feel as I know my body needs to get used to this type of eating on top of the fact that I'm completely eliminating junk food and soda. That being said I do want to know chemically what's happening in my body when i eat sweets. Staying on this diet I feel little weird right now not my normal self not terrible but not great.

Today was a perfect example I stuck to my nutrition perfectly and wasn't feeling right all day and about an hour ago I had a chocolate chip cookie and within about one minute of eating it, physically, I felt much better.

Is this sugar or caffeine withdrawal? Maybe its a a blood sugar thing?

Very possible. Give yourself a little more time to adjust to a clean diet. However, if this persists or gets worse, i'd go for a doc visit. You may have an issue with hypoglycemia. Are you noticing that you feel really bad a little while after eating carbs? Like a complete drop in energy? Try to describe what you're feeling like.

I'll keep an eye on this and see if I notice that and report back.

I would describe the feeling as sort of a physical anxious feeling. And then when I eat something with high sugar, I feel calm and at ease. Make any sense? It's not emotional lol, it's def a physical feeling.

Keep in mind this is not a dramatic feeling, it is very noticeable, but not brutal.

Yes, it's less of a craving and more of a "my body telling me" it needs something.

Feeling normal today, I'll give it some time and report back.

Any advice on a good energy boosting snack I can have mid-day when I'm feeling low energy?

Caffeine should give you a good kick. Also make sure you're drinking plenty of water to keep everything moving along nicely.

Water in check, 1 gal a day.

I figured it out. Not enough carbs in my first couple meals. As carbs are fuel, I was literally running low. I increased my carbs in my first 2 meals, and bam, I feel perfect.

Mine is a different strange, I eat 80%+ of my carbs before noon. I feel a lot more energetic throughout the day. The only other thing that is odd is that I crave carbs bad when I am beyond hot from being outside for hours. I still drink a shit ton of water, but it's always been like that.

It's truly amazing when you simplify your diet to essentially just fuel. Giving your body what it needs and nothing more. When you get that dialed in, you can literally make small changes that have huge impacts and feel the results within a day. The body is an amazing machine.

My specific situation a is a perfect example of how "everyones body is different" I never knew I needed the amount of carbs that I do in the morning and early in the day. I was always eating so much sugar it polluted my gauge so I could not a get an honest read on what my body needed.

What a great feeling to know your body so well, that when you feel a certain way, you know exactly what it needs.

So far, increasing my carbs in my first 2 meals solved the problem. So no need for juice or cookies lol. Both sound yummy though!
