    Zig Zag diet

Anybody have any experience with this? its Kind of like Carb cycling.

I'm going to be trying high calories on my work out day. and low on non work out days.

    So basically I work out

    Mon(high)/Wed(High)/Fri(high) and

Tue/Thu/Sat/Sun all (low). Tue/Thu/Sat I will be doing fasted cardio.

I'm going to give this a try, This will be done naturally.

How high is high, and how low is low?

I've done zig zag dieting before, although I did it a bit differently seeing as my workouts were 5 consecutive days.

When cutting, I ate below maintenance all 5 workout days and then ate above maintenance on my 2 rest days. When 'bulking', it was the exact opposite - above maintenance on workout days, and below maintenance on the 2 rest days. This can also be considered zig-zag dieting.

The cutting plan in particular seems counter intuitive (eat below maintenance during workout days and above on rest days?) but when you look at it - the 2 rest days are like refeeds, except we're not eating an incredible amount of carbs, just an increase in calories all around with a slight emphasis on carbs.

    Hey Gbrice,

Yeah I hear a lot of people did what you did. seems like a good confusion for your metabolism.

I'm experimenting on this, I have till October to try some new eating patterns.

Here is what I was planning to do:

3400 calories - Monday. Workout day
2400 calories - Tuesday. OFF day
3400 calories - Wednesday. Workout day
2400 calories - Thursday. OFF day
3400 calories - Friday. Workout day
2400 calories - Saturday. OFF day
2400 calories - Sunday. OFF day

I would consume a big part of my calories during pre and post workout on high days.
