I would love to know also, since I am cutting down and the only think I do drink is the Zero type products and water. I still try to keep the Zero drink intake down to a minimum though.

    I don't know mate.

but i'm always suspicious when people start using these type things as a crutch. I see old folks buying red bull by the case load at costco, and i;m thinking... wtf??

This has become part of my pre-workout meal from time to time. 6oz chicken breast and cup of oats then have a redbull zero on the 40 min drive from work to the gym. I only have the red bull 1-2 times a week if that often when I need a little extra kick as I'm trying to cut out stims and rely mostly on good carbs for energy.

As far as the cut goes it's a zero cal option so it should be fine with the diet, but as TR said above. To many people are relying on these and similar products as crutch. Just get to bed earlier and you should notice better energy.

I try to consume this new found garbage maybe 3-4x a week. I know it can't be good for you. . . I just don't know how bad they are.

I've only had these stim drinks maybe a half dozen times at the most. maybe not even that many. buddy of mine a few years back bought two big ones and gave me one. i popped mine down in about 10 seconds like i do beer. he's like.... dude! yer sposed to sip. after a few minutes, i got real shakey and felt like crap.

if i want a stim drink, i'll have a cup of coffee...
...something i understand and can handle!

I just read an article off another forum about how these drinks actually trigger the same release of insulin into the body as regular sugary drinks they basically trick your brain into doing the wrong thing, I'll try to find the article and read it again but I'd say don't drink them.
If your looking for some clean energy there was another study saying raisins are very good for an energy boost.

Please post it if you can find it, I'd like to read that. Also, I'm not sure about redbull but most diet/0cal sodas have aspartame which I've been reading a lot of stuff about which I wish I'd rather not have read. I find it hard to determine what should be taken seriously, what is being exagerated and when there are certain interests behind a study or article.

This is what I have read also. But, I forgot where and I have no idea on on how credible the info could be.

Go to a Dollar Store and get Rip It. A buck a piece and they are sugar free and work just the same.

It sucks, it's my only current solution when I crave carbs badly. Like today, I was in the 110+ degree weather for most of the day. I can slam like a 2 litre of Coke or 2-3 Gatorades. But, instead I drank like a glass and a half of coke zero. Then I slammed like 2 litres of water. Still sucks drinking that garbage, but my cravings after that excruciating heat are rough.
