^^ for starters, DON'T do what you're doing in your avy, lol! When you hit the front or rear double bi pose, bring your elbows up higher, at least parrallel to the floor, and pull your shoulder blades apart (you're squeezing them back) to spread your 'wings'... show the lats a bit. You can also have your arms slightly in front of you instead of directly inline with your body; this should help round out the lats a bit more.
PS - on another note, I don't know if you've been through my 'Ask GB Anything' thread yet, but there is a TON of Q&A in there and you're bound to pick up something interesting. Check it out when you have time.

so my training this week is going to be a little off. normally i would go home from work get my little people and head right to the gym, because thats when the gym offers the child care. but seeing as my day time child care has changed and my cousin is doing it and living with me while i do so, i want to maximize my little people time. i will be going home after work, hanging out with the kids and when they go to be i will be going to the gym. will the change in time affect my work out much? i am also trying to ensure a protein with every meal and cutting out the fruits, i have been weaning the fruits out this past week thanks to your awesome advice GB, but it might mean adding "bad" sugars every once and a while to controll the sugar levels

With regards to energy levels, etc. - possibly. With regards to progress, nothing to worry about. We may want to tweak the diet a bit to accomodate this new schedule however.
Why add 'bad' sugars? If you need to control sugar levels here and there, just reintroduce fruit as needed.
-
08-27-2012, 09:24 AM #47
the bad sugars are things such as when sugars are crashing/ insulin are surging... a lifesaver will give you the exact amount of sugar needed to stabilize and because it absorbs fast into the system where as fruit you need to eat it and start to digest it in order for the sugars to absorb... i have been doing good this past week in getting used to less and less fruit but maintains the sugars
my energy levels are pretty good through the night and i really dont get tired till late in the evening, but thinking later work out might help with sleep.... my kids are very young still so they are going to be when the sun is still up... im not talking 10-11 pm here lol

Cool, read the whole post. . . . Sure wish your enthusiasm was contagious.
Keep up the good work, specially in your case where you don't need huge changes. Fitness should be a life long thing, not just a fad that people kick in and out of.
Good luck in your life long journey!

this is not something new to me... i was an avid runner with lots of basic training, never weights though this is a new aspect that i am loving fitness has always been my thing... i love it... my highest weight was 146lb and that was 9 months preg, and not being preg i dont think i ever hit 120lb my whole life, im almost 26 lol

Ahh, gotcha. Noted!
Hopefully. You might find the opposite though... like feeling wound up, at least initially. Eventually if you're consistent with the schedule you should adjust well.
41 and counting... you're getting there!

That's awesome to have this enthusiasm for life long fitness. If I could I would sell it by the gram and make billions. . . . lol
I could never run for any period of time even when I was in my best shape. My knees just don't like it. . . . I feel like a tool saying it, but I just power walk. Ugggh, that doesn't sound good.

Quinoa is awesome! I actually have some today for lunch - black bean quinoa!
Sorry to hear about your little guy. I know how much it hurts to see them hurt. I have an 11 month old at home and to see him in any kind of pain kills me. Hope your guy feels better soon!

i just signed up at a new gym and they dont have any spray bottles with spray and wipe, for machines and benches. the lions den has no AC so all these gorillias leave their puddles of sweat all over the benches.
yum!
speaking of kids, one of teh pro carders at my gym, had his little boy doing crunches and preses .. was "cute" kid is maybe 6 lol

my son is only just 4, last week, but he was a low birth weight baby so when he gets sick its real bad, and i cant compromise his health for my own selfishness, on the other hand if it was myself that was sick... my thoughts... sweat it out, if your not dying, puking or fainting your not done!!!!!
black bean quinoa sounds tasty as sin, i should send you my recipe for stuffed peppers made with the good stuff, i have no idea the numbers for it but its soooo tasty!
my gym does not let kids into it other then the child care portion of it but my son is super cute he will flex his arms and go mommy im strong like you i got big muscles! cutest thing ever and melts my heart... and then my little girl walks around and cuddles toy tools... like mother like daughter... i love it

You're already relatively lean, so that's a good thing. We'll work on getting you even leaner, but we also have some muscle to build! Let's get to work.
