check out the sticky for cutting 101. Get a diet plan laid out and post it up or post up your current diet and people will chime in with ideas to help you re work it and make it the best it can be.
I only mention a cut because you say you are a bit overweight. Which means you're probably carrying a good amount of body fat at the moment. It's better to cut first and get lean. Then you can move into a bulk to start packing on some lean body mass.
I had the same problem until I found this site. Felt like I was just spinning my wheels and never getting anywhere. The members here in the nutrition section are some of the greatest around when it comes to helping you reach your goals.

Hang in the Shneebz, the hardest part of weight loss and body composition change is the mental discipline. There is a lot of combined knowledge on this forum. Take you time and read all the stickies you can and learn. Then come with with a plan and then post your plan on the board and the members will give you their opinion. Good luck.
Thank you guys, that was always my problem the mental toughness, so cutting then moving to bulk alright i will do a bit of research and post up a plan for u guys to see
