    Carb Back Loading. Any tips???

Get the idea around consuming your carbs at night. Still haven't completely wrapped my head around the insulin part of it though. My problem is I lift in the early to mid morning. What do I do for a post workout shake? Whey with a scoop of simple carbs then stay off carbs till the evening or skip carbs all together in my shake? Thanks for any help

That's not necessarily true. If he needs them then he needs them. I say that as someone who thinks most people rely way to much on carbs to begin with. If you're training hard and have a well planned diet, carbs after a certain time of night are not going to make you fat. All that matters is are you burning them or not...that's what matters in the grand scheme of things.

re read his post he works out like 4-8 am then doesnt have his ppwo meal carbs till the evening, i dont post for the sake of "saying crap" I read peoples questions. and carbs later in the day and especially after 6pm do play a big role in when you want insulin spikes through out the day and controling blood sugar level accordingly. . Especially as you approach sleep and go into a fasted state, And the post work out meal after the pwo shake is a big deal when it comes to geting calories in

As for back loading, its not nessary. YOu can simply have you BCAA or a protein shake (add a bannana if you have to), drive/walk/skip/bus to the gym and work out. If you use a Pre work out drink go ahead and drink that too. But you simply will not have less of a work out with out carbs from the night before. The only time i would not suggest this is if you are going into the gym to do some personal bests on triple , double , single 1 rep max HEAVY powerlifting movments. Save those for 12 hours after you have been awake.

The reason I'm backloading is to try it as a new diet. I've tried eating multiple meals throughout the day and I simply don't have an appetite. Eating breakfast is like a mini victory for me, normally I do a protein shake and that's easy, solid food just doesn't wanna go down. Come lunch trying to eat veggie, protein, and carbs is like a chore. Healthy meals in between my main mails are also hard. Even with lifting and cardio I'll do a shake pwo with water and an hour later no appetite for lunch. At night it seems I eat carbs and want them like a beast. I noticed that on accident with simple snacking and stumbled upon carb back loading and I legit gave it a try with no carbs during the day and indulge at night and I had an appetite again during the day around every 3 hrs. Had High amount of carbs at night/evening and my body was just taking It with ease. Now I am going to get to the gym about 730 with no breakfast, as recommended, and see how it works. Currently I'm about 5'11 6'0 195-197 seems to be my consistent weight. I wanna drop about 10-15 lbs.for some reason my body always felt comfortable in the 190s but that's holding extra weight. Im natural as well. Thanks for the advice and tips

You have to address your diet, and perhaps do daily fasts and eat 3 large meals later in the day. Still trying to consume carbs in the first 1-2 leaving your very last one carb free.

so your goal is to lose 15 lbs ?

Exactly what i do and works great. Im up and out of the house by 6. I eat my meals between 1 pm and 9 pm. Keeps my appetite great because although i still eat very clean, it allows me to get my cravings in when i feel i need to without setting me back. Perfect solution for me.

Yeah I wanna lose about 10 15lbs. When I'm low 180 I don't feel right. I feel too light I guess. When I'm around low 190s high 180s I feel more energy and more solid. It's hard to explain.
