Is it more healthy to drink or not?
Sucrose syrup and glucose-fructose syrup. No thanks.
The only time I drink it is when I have been out in the heat and feel like I am about to pass out. Like when I am helping someone move all day in July. Any other time it is just water. Diet soda if I need a jolt.
Yes, when you're sweating your ass off you will lose both sodium and potassium which Gatorade can replenish. It's just not the source I'd want.
I agree with johnnyvegas gatorade always make me more thirsty
G2 Zero Calories is great you should try it Austin
So Gatorade isn't something I'd want to drink on the regular? With working long hours at the restaurant, I'm always drinking coffee and Coca Cola to try and keep me moving, but I've been noticing that it makes me lag after a while so I'll drink more, and more. Any idea on something that'll give me that boost, keep me moving, and be more healthier for me?
And what are your thoughts about those energy shots? I take those a lot, about half way through a workout at the gym.
Gatorade makes me fat. I get better energy from water. As for the fake sugar gatorade, I do not react well to any sort of fake sugar. I get brain-dead and slow. Makes my thinking disjointed. That's just me though as I have a zero-physical 100%-intense mental job. I strongly feel that those fake sugars drop your IQ..or something. I'm telling you that crap messes with my head.
Forgive me if I offend, but I convert people off the fake sugar as I share my experience, others take note and will agree with me when they start to pay attention to their mental performance when on the fake sugar.
Test it for yourself. Do a before and after reading comprehension and/or mathematic challenge of some nature. That stuff is from the devil I tell you.
The g2 is good. It's sucralose. It's about like the propel water, but tastes way better.
if all you want is oral rehydration, then this is the best thing out there, and is used world wide:
Oral Rehydration Solution
This set of recipes is from Rehydration Project, a group that is dedicated to ending diarrhea around the world. Make a drink with 1 L of water, or 5 cups, 6 tsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt. For a second version, use 1 L water, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. baking soda and 2 tbsp. sugar or honey.
AND IT COSTS ONLY A FEW PENNIES!!!
I agree and I'd like to, but like I stated, it gives me that bust of energy for a while. Any idea on something Austinite?Originally Posted by austinite

I only drink water and diet green tea. No other liquids what so ever.
If you're not feeling any energy and always seeking some sort of enhancer, you may have a deficiency somewhere. I would get blood work done. Check your D levels and Thyroid.
For over the counter, you can consider:
DHEA @ 50mg daily.
Pregnenalone @ 100mg daily.
Rhodiola @ 250mg daily.
D3 @ 5000 iu daily.
You don't have to choose one, you can take them all.
Depends when you drink it. Through sweating the bodies loses water, sodium, and other electrolytes. Gatorade is a great way to replenish these. However it is loaded with sugar! Often after an intense workout with lots of sweating I will have a small amount (4-12oz). Just don't drink too much or you will become fluid overloaded, (hyponatremic). You can google that. Don't worry that is not to common.
Not trying to throw my business out there, but like I've stated on a previous thread, I am 18. I use to be a "trouble maker" and I was locked up (No worries, haven't been in trouble since) my entire year of being 16. I had blood work done when I was incarcerated, and I don't remember EXACTLY what was said about my thyroid level, but I remember them putting me on a 2000 cal. diet because my cholesterol and thyroid levels were skyrocketed beyond belief. I shocked all the doctors and they said if I were to be a few years older, I would of probably already had a heart attack. But I will definitely look into getting some blood work done.
What would be a reason to go see my doctor about it? Just a "check up" with some concern?

drink g2 when im out in the heat. Its like 50cals/serving.
when i was a runner, the best electrolyte replacement i felt at the time was cutting pulp free OJ with an equal amount of icewater. Very inexpensive
But really mate, don't be so quick to dismiss the recipe i gave above (#14). When i was in the 'Stan, I was gulping down huge amounts of fluids trying to get rehydrated, and not able to find satisfaction. Then this little Nepalise bloke gave me a pack of rehydration salts to put in a 12oz bottle of water. Surprisingly enough, i was finally able to quench my thirst. The package he gave me contained the recipe i gave you above.
The fluid should quench your thirst and replace electrolytes.
The food you eat should be what provides your energy.
You really should try #14 before you dismiss it.
Good luck!
I'll give it a try Roman. What's the difference between the first and second one?
Austinite, I did some research on DHEA, Pregnanolone, Rhodiola, and D3 last night before going to sleep. Some of them said not to take such high doses. Now, I am pretty interested in them as I did like what I read about them, but is taking a few of those at such high dosage safe?
