    Probiotic and/or Digestive Enzymes

I have been reading up on the two subjects but can't decide if one is a better choice over the other. I don't really have a problem with constipation, especially since I take NOW psyllium husk, with the addition of my diet I get plenty of fiber.

Are probiotics or digestive enzymes worth looking into? I've done a few searches here on the forums and found just a few results with mixed opinions, but if something can help aid with the digestion of nutrients and make use of what you put in the body I like to get the scoop on it.

i had a QUICK look into this the other week and unless your of a certain age and/or poor diet i couldnt see any benefit really. i just have a tsp of greek yogurt every 5-7 days for the enzymes in that. plus i have cot cheese everyday so i'd assume there's some good stuff in that aswel to aid in this area.

I'm really skeptical about the use of yogurt as a probiotic. very difficult to tell if the live bacteria can even survive the pass through the extremely acidic environment of the stomach.

You WILL need a priobiotic after taking antiobiotics to stabilize your natural intestinal flora.

If you already have a healthy intestinal flora, there really is NO need for additional probiotics.

Food enzymes like Lactaid, papaya, beano, and the like are taken for specific remedies based on the capability of the enzyme you are taking.

If you have NO digestive complaints when eating beans, drinking milk, etc. Then there is probably NO need for additional enzymes.

Insightful. I really have no complaints when it comes to digestion. I can recall 1 time I was constipated well over a year ago, but other than that no problems. I rather regular as of now so perhaps I'll stick with the psyllium husk.

    Thanks TM
