    Lean Ground Beef

    How often do you eat lean ground beef? I typically eat a pound a day of 93/7 during the afternoon alongside 1 cup of black beans and 2 cups of wholewheat rotini pasta. I split this into two meals and pour Cholula hot sauce all over it.

    Total macros for both meals:
    Beef (1 pound):
    Cals: 680 Protein:92 Carbs: 0 Fat 32
    Pasta (2 cups):
    Cals: 420, Protein: 14, Carbs: 82, Fat 3
    Black beans (1 cup)
    Cals: 400, Protein: 28, carbs: 88, fat 2g

    Total
    Cals: 1,500, Protein: 134g, Carbs: 170g, Fat: 37g

    I'm currently bulking and this is usually my 2nd and 3rd meals of the day. TDEE is ~2800, I'm eating at a 500 calorie surplus (3300 total calories).

    What do you think of this combination?

    If you're hiting the macros you want to hit then I think it's a great food choice!

    I eat 6oz 90/10 beef for my last meal for the fats and protein. If I was bulking I would incorporate it more often!

    I use ground beef alot, I don't mind what fat percentage I buy as I cook it on my George Forman grill, I cook it until every drop of fat has drained out of it. Making it low fat ;-)

    I mix ground beef, ground turkey and ground chicken all together. It doesnt taste as dry and helps me get the added fats I need in my diet

    i eat 96/4 ground beef at 1lb per day. i like it cuz it only has 18g fat in the entire pound and is the same price where i live as the 93/7..

    Thanks for all of your input. I've been doing this for about 2 months and I've been hitting the macros I want and meeting my lifting goals. I just havent heard of a lot of diets that contain lean ground beef at a pound a day.

    at 18g fat pre pound i dont know why anyone wouldnt eat it. it is one of my favs.. chikn is ok but i look forward to my ground beef and brn rice..

    I will have to agree, I love me some ground beef.
