Integrating IF to my lifestyle. Need advice pls
After doing my research on intermittent Fasting I am now sold.
I will start with a one 24 hour Fasting a week. Then integrate the 8 hour window of feed and 16 hour of fast next year in January when My schedule will allow me to do it.
My 24 hour will start Wednesday at 9pm last meal till Thursday 9pm. (best for my schedule)
From people who had done the 24 hour Fasting:
-was Dentyne Ice ok for gum? it has no sugar but it says 1 gram of sugar alcohols/Polyalcools
- I will not be doing any cardio or resistance training on my 24 hour fast. So should I still keep taking Amino acids?
- I will drink green tea and water on that day only
Any advice and experience you had would be appreciated!
Thank you

Hey eazyduzit: I would recommend to read eat-stop-eat! Great information and backed evidence on the benefits of ''IF''
Hey Gearbox: This is my purpose for the ''If'' Also I want to get down a lower BF%
The proposed benefits of IF in animals and humans read like a laundry list of “look
better,” “feel better,” “live longer” physiological changes. These include:
REDUCED
• blood lipids (including decreased triglycerides and LDL cholesterol)
• blood pressure (perhaps through changes in sympathetic/parasympathetic activity)
• markers of inflammation (including CRP, IL-6, TNF, BDNF, and more)
• oxidative stress (using markers of protein, lipid, and DNA damage)
• risk of cancer (through a host of proposed mechanisms; we’ll save them for
another review)
INCREASED
• cellular turnover and repair (called autophagocytosis)
• fat burning (increase in fatty acid oxidation later in the fast)
• growth hormone release later in the fast (hormonally mediated)
• metabolic rate later in the fast (stimulated by epinephrine and norepinephrine
release)
IMPROVED
• appetite control (perhaps through changes in PPY and ghrelin)
• blood sugar control (by lowering blood glucose and increasing insulin sensitivity)
• cardiovascular function (by offering protection against ischemic injury to the heart)
• effectiveness of chemotherapy (by allowing for higher doses more frequently)
• neurogenesis and neuronal plasticity (by offering protection against neurotoxins)

A stick here and there will be fine, but don't go nuts. Sugar alcohols have shown to still have some effect on BGL.
Unnecessary IMO.
Sounds good
Seeing as it's just a single 24 hour fast for now, there's not much to advise on. Just get through it, and don't let it be an excuse to eat whatever you want when you break the fast.
Check out a thread I started a while ago. Also bumped it for your convenience. http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...t#.UFoM9bKPXIQ
