    Replacing oats with fruit

Ok so after about a week and a half of trying to force feed oats in the morning, I've decided I'm done trying. I'm not eating that crap. I usually just end up throwing most of it away, anyway. So here's my question, is fruit a sufficient substitute for oats? Not sure if fruits are simple or complex carbs. If not I guess it'll just have to be a sweet potato or brown rice for breakfast. Thanks in advance for the help, guys.

I don't care for oats much eaither so here's my solution...because fruits aren't a sub for oats.

I prepare 10 servings of oats and while still hot I put the into an 8x14 pyrex dish and allow to completely cool. Then I cut the oats into 10 equal squares and freeze them. Every morning I remove one oat square and add it into the blender with the makings of my morning shake. I use GNC Wheybolic, but whatever you use is fine. I also add fruit like banannas and berries to it. I don't use shakes as meals, but I have 3-4 of them daily with my meals. really helps to ramp up the protein/carb numbers while keeping fat under control. Of course you could add peanut butter or olive oil in if you needed a fat boost. Hope this helps you as much as it did me.

No fruit isn't a good substitute for oats. Just blend the oats along with your protein and fruit and drink them. Oats are king of the complex world

Yeah I really hated the idea of cutting them out of my diet bc I understand the importance of their nutritional value but like I said its a struggle every morning. They definitely make breakfast my least favorite meal of the day. I'm going to try mixing them into my morning shake tomorrow. Thanks again guys

I haven't had a solid breakfast for years, its always been a shake. Just grind them up slip some fruit in with your protein and drink your good to go

Here is something awesome (blue berry pancakes...kinda)

    8 egg whites
    1 cup oats.
    a few blueberries

Throw in a bowl and stir into a nice batter.

Cook covered on low in a pan for about maybe 10-15 minutes, flip when needed (like you are making a pancake)

    Top with some agave nectar.

AWESOME. Beats the mundane eggs and oats.

    I love oats.

I eat them probably 4 out of 6 meals.

I literally just throw them in a shaker bottle, add cold water and drink them whole.

For breakfast Ill make them the night before like this...
    Oats
    Honey
    Cocoa powder
    Splenda
    Protein powder
    Milk

I mix all the ingredients together in bowl. Let it sit in the fridge over night.
In the morning its so good. Like oat pudding.

if you are going to sub something for the oats, try to get a comperable GV item. Fruit is not really close, and is mostly a simple carb source, unlike oats. You can go here and do your research to find something you like that is comperable:
