    Best pre-workout meal?

I've tried a whole slew of different pre-workout supplements, shakes, drinks, pills, fruits, protein bars, etc...

None seem to give me the workout energy that an actual meal does. I workout at 12-noon everyday, so i like to eat lunch once I'm done with the gym. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what might give me the needed energy before I hit the gym? Some sort of "filling snack" that some of you might have found worked?

Well if you eat a whole meal about an hour to an hour and half before the gym... you should be good.

Lean beef for the slow release of protein.

Sweet potatoes for the complex carbs.

    Some healthy fats.

Should be enough to fuel a workout just fine.

It is for me. Thats what I eat.

You can't drive your car without gas in the tank... same goes for your body. Give your body fuel to get through your workout. Try to stay away from protein shakes pre-workout meals and stick to grilled chicken/lean beef or lean turkey paired with sweet potato or oats.

if you plan to eat lunch after the gym, try organic peanut butter scooped onto a banana or 2 before your workout. Also the black coffee like fatman225 said would be good to give you a little kick. only problem is with those 3 combined you better have quick access to a toilet nearby. black coffee is also said to be the best liquid aphrodisiac so that's another benefit....

    this

i usually eat some lean meat in a marinade or low fat sauce and 100g (uncooked) brown/basmati rice and with scrambled egg (or whites if cutting), peas, red onion, broccoli, shredded carrot mixed through and drizzle of low sodium soy sauce

resturant quality food that fits macros!!!!

    ummmmmmm

    try it minus the veg
