    Milk question

For some reason milk makes me break out...unfortunate. Does this happen to anyone else and if so what do you drink/eat to get the similar nutrients? thanks

What are you looking to get out of milk? Calcium? Protein? Carbs?

I'm not a fan of milk at all, I feel fat when I drink it and the sugar content is to high for me!

Dairy products break my skin out too. You're not alone.

The reason that milk products cause acne is because milk contains hormones that "turn on" oil glands. The cows that give the milk are pregnant and milking most of their lives. These hormones are not injected into the cows - they are natural hormones that cows make during every "menstrual" cycle, but during pregnancy these hormones are produced continuously at high levels and so are found in all cows' milk.

Oil gland pores are plugged by the overproduction of the cells that line the pore - basically a "traffic jam" happens in the pore. This overproduction is caused by hormones and there are three sources. The first is ovaries or testicles, the second is the adrenal (stress) glands and the third is dairy products.

These three "stack up" on each other, and when the amount of hormone present is enough to plug up the pore, acne is started.

same here. Never broke out from it, but it's certainly not where I want my carbs from.

ouch, I feel for you guys/gals who can't enjoy Milk. If its optional then, OK... However i drink about 3/4 of a gallon per day w/ only about 4 cups mixed for whey. otherwise its great for me..

This is the first I've heard of Acne being involved w/ milk, but I haven't been on this site long & am still reading tons of info..

3/4th of a gallon in a day! That's like eating 10 snicker bars!

It's not where I want anything from, there's far better choices for protein or carbs!

Mainly i was thinking about calcium and also the convenience of mixing your whey or casein protein to give you additional protein....other than that i do agree it kind of makes me feel tired bloated and sluggish.
