Do you count your calories in vegetables? I know they don't have a lot of calories, but wondering if you guys count them toward your daily calorie intake.

depends on the circumstance for me. low carb days i do count cals. although i deal more with macros than i do cals. especially the carb macro.
when cutting on low carb days i do count veggies. on moderate and high carb days i do not. i used to when i was fat and anal and prob would again if i ever got that way
i suppose for myself its one of the benefits of not being fat anymore.
but think about it in these terms:
say u eat 150g carbs per day and do not count ur veggie carbs. lets say u eat 50g carbs from ur veggies. if u counted ur veggies carbs that would be 50g starch u WOULD NOT be eating. (200cals)
i could see this having somewhat of an impact due to the fact that green veggies typically have a high amt of fiber. i think (and dont quote me on this) that on my low carb days when i eat broccoli only im getting 65g carbs but like 35-40g fiber. this would net closer to 25-30g carbs whereas 65 g carbs from oats is pretty much gonna be 65 g carbs.
hope i made this clear enuff. prob not a deal breaker but to us anal people it can be something lurking in the back of ur mind![]()
Good response. I am probably a little too anal when it comes to counting calories, but what the hell. MuscleInk (luv ya bro) takes the cake when it comes to being anal, lol. That guy takes his scale with him when he goes out to eat. I still crack up when I think about that. haha.
Can't give a better answer than 405.
But for me cutting=count everything bulking=have not counted veggies
I eat about 1.5 cups steamed broccoli a day which is about 75 calories according to my calorie app.
When cutting I was eating a bit more veggies and counted everything.
I mainly count them, But it also depends on what veg it is. Things like broccoli with high fibre content sometimes get a free pass or even a bigger portion depending on how frugle/hungry I'm feeling.
For the calorie content of veg its not gona take you too far off course with any goals, unless you're grazing away for 12 hours a day.
