    Lentils?

Good morning everybody. I was wondering if you could give your thoughts on Lentils when compared to other carbohydrate sources such as whole grain brown rice. Brown rice is killing me and lentils sound like a godsend about right now. Here are the nutrition facts for both:

    Lentils - 1 cup cooked - 230 cal - 40g c - 18g p - 1g f

    Brown Rice - 1 cup cooked - 218 cal - 46g c - 5g p - 2g f

Thank you everybody. Have a good day

Red lentils are good stuff, if you have a small handful of almonds straight after (or with) your lentils. almond Combined together with lentils makes them both whole proteins ;-)

The only issue I have with lentils is their texture. But yes, they are high in protein and, even though its an incomplete protein, you shouldn't worry about it. Unless you are only going to eat lentils and nothing but.

    Puy lentils I like!

    Have you tried quinoa?

I like to reduce lentils down into soup,

Add a bay leaf, turmeric, chilli flakes, cardamom pods, cinnamon, hot water, let it reduce down on a hob into a smooth soup consistency. Takes about half an hour to reduce down.

    It's lovely ;-)
