Meal 1
2 large whole eggs
8 egg whites or 25g whey protein
1 cup oats
Solid. Might want to add a high glycemic (fast-digesting) carb source such as a cantaloupe or banana. The reason being is you've been fasting all night long. Glycogen decreases overnight, and your body begins consuming muscle tissue for fuel. Eat protein and a fast-carb food for breakfast to stop muscle breakdown and encourage protein synthesis.
Meal 2 (this is post workout meal)
50g whey
1 whole white bagel
Good. Switch out the whole white bagel for something like 50g dextrose, maltrodexin, or a serving of Vitargo S2. You can also do it simple with gummy bears, or Pixy Stix. Candies like that are low-fat, but fast-digesting sugars. This is important for replenishing the glycogen lost during a workout. You need a carbohydrate (just like whey protein) that's very fast; it gets right to the muscles and replenishes glycogen levels you depleted in the workout. It's also going to spike insulin levels. Insulin is an anabolic hormone. It helps push all those carbs into the muscle. For recovery, it pushes amino acids ... it pushes the creatine into the muscle where you want it. That not only enhances recovery, but also supports muscle growth.
Meal 3
8oz lean beef of your choice (weighed cooked)
1 cups brown rice
1 cup salad
½ tablespoon olive oil
Very good.
Meal 4
8oz lean chicken breast OR 8oz ground turkey
8oz sweet potato
1 cup salad
Very good.
Meal 5
8oz lean beef OR ground turkey weighed cooked
1 cups brown rice
Okay.
Meal 6
8oz lean beef of your choice OR 3 cups cottage cheese or non-fat greek yogurt
1 cup salad
Yummy. I don't see why a salad and lean beef would be necessary. Casein is much more suitable.
