PWO shake while cutting- with or without dextrose in 2012 ??
Hi guys,
I know this is a hot topic but need to hear the latest opinions.
I'm currently cutting down my BF from 18% to 12%.
I usually have about 50gm of dextrose and 50gm oats in my PWO shake. I'm really going to try cut down my BF over the next 6 weeks. Should I remove the dextrose or is it still required for the insulin spike after training? Im trying to hold as much muscle as possible during the diet.
Thanks boyz

There's no need, at all, to spike your insulin . The rest of your diet and stats will dictate your success.
NO SOURCES GIVEN

agree with the rest, ditch the dextrose and just have the oats. or up the oats to match your macros from the dextrose

Definitely not required, and I would definitely ditch it during your cut. In fact, I'd never add it regardless of the goal. Purposely eating pure sugar? No thanks.

Cool, consider the sugar gone. On this diet I'm currently have
1/2 cup of oats in the morning 60gm protein shake
6 egg whites
1/2 cup oats pre workout with 60gm protein shake
1/2 cup oats in my PWO shake with 60 gm protein
Then I have a PWO meal without carbs just steak and broccoli,
200gm smoked salmon with low fat cream cheese and some low fat crackers.
Can of tuna and a casein shake 30g protein.
Current stats are 33yo, 220 lbs 6ft 1".
If I start a test/tren HGH cycle should I continue this diet or add more oats or protein ?Last edited by athletic.guy; 10-17-2012 at 08:26 AM.

Also, I believe that if you dont have the discipline to cut without gear then you have no right cutting with it! If you have done some cycles, are educated, and have shown you can do things properly and safely then yes gear is great for a cutting cycle.Last edited by Brick; 10-16-2012 at 02:43 PM.

OP your diet needs to be reworked for you to reach your goal, namely by dropping carbs, keep carbs around the workout, maybe at breakfast time. do more cardio also

When cutting, I avoid dextrose, maltodextrin, fructose or lactose. Just drink your shakes with water.

Hell, while cutting I don't even use shakes.
If you must get more protein in, and you still got room for the calories (I believe in calorie counting), then drink which ever tastes better.
