I hope this helps people who find it hard to put on weight
I went to the gym for years and always found it hard to gain weight. At best I was able to hit 200lb. I feel now that calling myself a "hard gainer" was a cop out and what I should have said is that I am not committed enough and that my lifestyle leads to shit gains.
What I've learnt:
Eat every 3 hours. If you can't atleast pack a protein drink to take with you to work/school, you're not committed and unless you're a mesomorph, you probably won't gain any size.
What you do in the gym really has very little to do with putting on size. As long as you train hard, set goals and know the basics (stick to basic compound exercises. No machines and no fancy exercises).
Maintain a diet rich in protein. For the Aussie people, grab a piece of flake instead of eating shit food. For non Aussie people, I'm not sure about that one. We have heaps of shops which sell "flake" which is a generic name for shark, elephant fish e.t.c.
Get a good carb drink and have atleast one per day and one while you are at the gym. Vitargo is a very popular one. I personally prefer the USN stuff. It tastes great and has vitamin c in it.
Make sure your body is in good health. Both muscular and skeletal.
I reckon that if you follow this, you will put on weight.
