Test / Anavar Cutting Cycle - How Many Calories?

    Hello,
    24
    192lbs
10% bf or less (see attached pic)

I started a test anavar cycle. I'm using test cyp at 200-250mg/week with 100mg of Anavar per day. I am also considering adding in ostarine as I have some laying around.

My goal is to reduce body fat. Gains in LBM are not what I'm looking for, this is strictly a cutting cycle. However I'm not looking to loose LBM either. I just want the fat around my legs, butt, and lower back gone.

How low can I reduce my calories while still retaining LBM? Off AAS I cut on a bit over 2500 calories a day plus daily cardio. Could I go down to 2000 calores a day? 1500!? I want to go as low as I can, without sacrificing existing muscle mass. This is my first time using AAS for cutting.

For now I am trying out 2000 calories per day. Here is what I'm eating.

    Food Kcal Protein Carbs Fat
    1 Scoop Whey 117 24 2 2
    Total 117 24 2 2

    2 Egg 140 12 0 10
    7 Egg Whites 112 25.2 1.4 0.7
    0.5 Cup Oats 150 5 27 2.5
    Total 402 42.2 28.4 13.2

    Almonds 1oz 164 6 5.6 14.36
    1 egg 70 6 0 5
    Chicken 8oz 200 48 1 2
    0.5 Cup Oats 150 5 27 2.5
    Total 584 65 33.6 23.86

    2 scoop Whey 234 48 4 4
    Total 234 48 4 4

    8 oz Lean Meat 200 44 0 3
    1 egg 70 6 0 5
    0.5 Cup Oats 150 5 27 2.5
    Broccoli 120 4 16 0
    Total 540 59 43 10.5

    1 Scoop GS Casein 120 24 3 1
    Total 120 24 3 1

    Daily Total 1997 262.2 114 54.56

I lift 6-7 times a week as well as cardio. 20-30 mins of cardio after lifting 5+ days a week, as well as AM cardio I do at home on a recombinant bike

    Thanks!

mike welcome man. a front shot wouldve been better but ur prob close.

are u coming off a maintenance diet or what? as lean as u are ur prob gonna fare better to cycle carbs IMO. 6-7days per week lifting IMO is too many. im having good success with EOD lifting and EOD fasting. at least maintaining LBM if not gaining a bit and losing fat.

our stats are similar. im about 190lbs @10%bf and eating 3500cals on training days and 1000-1200 on off days and doing 90mins cardio during non train days split into one 60min fasted and one 30 min fasted. (am and noon)..

keeping cals high on lift days preserves LBM and the fast combined with low cals + cardio burns the fat. something to think about. u may not be like me in that u gain fat easily and u may be able to lose it without as much effort in which case maybe a std deficit low carbs will work.

    just a thought..

Hello 405, thats for the input.

2500 cals a day for me seems to keep me at about the same place. I cut from 207 to 190 eating 2500 cals a day, cardio and lifting 6x a week, as well as 25mg ostarine per day.

I have thought about carb cycling with a diet like the CKD, but when I did it in the past I felt like I was loosing muscle. I don't know if I actually was, but I wasn't a huge fan of the CKD due to how it affected my workouts. I was considering doing it when on an anabolic (like now).

So when you drop your calories on non training days do you shoot for minimum carb intake?

    Thanks!

i wouldnt necessarily go for a CKD per se. ketosis is NOT a necessity nor is it what were trying to do. i have learned a fair amount regarding carb cycles in the last 6 months. i used to go for several consecutive days of no/very low veggie only carbs. this does work to a point but am having better success (leaner and stronger) with an EOD protocol along with ADF (alternate day fasting).

chances are with the CKD u ran in the past u were feeling like u lost muscle due to loss of water which is what occurs when u run no carbs. ive been on a ADF carb cycle for 5 weeks and have lost about 1 1/4" in waist, 10lbs, gained 1" around shoulders. the tape is a good tool along with scale and mirror + pics to track progress if u dont have access to a BOD POD (which i also use every month or 2).

YES on non-training days u eliminate starch completely and i am doing cardio twice on these days (both of which are fasted). the key is to have cals high enuff on training days to compensate.

for example: me on training days eat 3000-3500cals, 300g carbs, 400g pro; non-training days 1000-1200cals , carbs from veggies only + 11hr fast (after waking) + 90mins cardio split into 2 sessions..

This is not a nutrition question but maybe I missed ur cycle post in the other section. Why such a low dose of test?

Low test to avoid issues with gyno. The doc's put me on TRT with a gel, I have gone rouge and I'm just doing it myself with injections. I want to be conservative with the test dose and slowly increase the dose each time I blast.
