Would appreciate some help with a diet

Well I have generally been in good shape for my size, always been a husky well built guy. I was in a bad car accident almost 2 years ago, I weighed about 230 then and it was a fairly lean 230. I am now 270-275 and obviously gained alot of fat, gut, love handles etc. I used to be in the gym 5 days a week but the accident halted that. I feel disgusted, im fat, feel disgusting every day and want to be back in the shape I was, I felt good, looked good and was in shape. I am still well buillt but this FAT is hiding it all. I have been getting back to the gym as Iv been good to go for a while. Strength is pretty shot. curling max weight of 40s, bench is 100 lbs and thats only for about 5 reps etc etc

I want to be in shape for summer, I want to take my kids to the beach and not feel disgusted with my shirt off. I am trying to get my eating habits back to normal aka healthy.
So I obviously want to lose as much weight as fast as I can. What kind of diets are good to follow? Iv seen the BP coffee diet, the Paleo diet etc

Anyone have any suggestions? I truly want this but am looking for advice from the experienced here. Any diets you recommend, how to build up strength, im not afraid to try anything and am very motivated but I have never had to lose this much weight ever and need advice as to where to start.

again, any help is appreciated guys

You can do this and a lot of people here can help.

The guys in the nutrition forum can help with the diet. That will have the biggest impact as diet will help even more than exercise.

Weight lifting and cardio will help...especially cardio.

I would stay away from steroids until you are in better shape and have put some mass on. Otherwise you will deal with additional sides like higher risk of high blood pressure.

At this point you might want to even stay away from the things that we use for cutting fat like Clen . This process will take a while and it would be better to use things like that later in the game.

Hit up the nutrition section and get help figuring out how many calories you should be eating. Then you will figure out your macros (protein, carbs and fat). Then you will come up with a diet. Then the pounds fall off like magic. Not really, but having that knowledge will make it MUCH easier.

You will be shocked at how fast it comes back. Get your diet lined up and hit it hard. Give it 3-4 months and you'll prolly put on 8-10 lbs of muscle (assuming that you've lost some since the accident). That will be crazy motivation for you. I put on 15 lbs of lean muscle weight in about that time frame but I've lost about 45 lbs from when I lifted almost 15 years ago.

Welcome Newguy! And kudos for posting up a photo. You will see a big transformation I promise you.

    My tips:

Take it slow, as slow wins the race

Eat foods you like which are approved here so you stick to it

Fasted cardio which does not have to be super fast but just a nice clip first thing in the morning and then another cardio later in the day at a higher intensity will shed BF real fast. IMO, personally what works for me is 2 shorter sessions since doing 2x's a day and more enjoyable for me since not a long session and enjoyable is the KEY to all of this so find what works for you so it works!

Log in here every single day whether perfect or not. Getting out the gate is the most important move to make and you have made that move!

Something I need to work on: planning meals. And pre-cooklng meals so they are ready and available.

Remove all the tempting foods out of your house if your family will allow it. And changind your grocery cart.

If you like pancakes? I will post up my recipe which has helped me thru this process like no other. And guess what? They are approved!

    And.........Consistency is key!

    Good luck!
