I suggest you go strict paleo and you will see how fast those 30lbs disappear into thin air.

I'm unfamiliar with the paleo diet - what's the difference between that & my diet listed above?

paleo or "caveman diet" is a diet based on all fresh, no processed or refined, foods or in other words "hunter gatherer". No grains and no dairy are two big principles as well as no added sugars.

This diet can be very detoxifying as well if you go strict paleo and cut out alcohol completely. Energy levels are above and beyond any other diet you can try after getting over the initial hump of no grains and dairy.

pm me if you want some more info or links.

Thought I would share a little progress with everyone. This is day 4 of me doing this diet + training program & already I notice a difference. Now, I know that the difference is water lost, regardless, it's something I struggle with on a monthly basis so to see any change, water loss or not, I am happy with. SteM, LOVING the cardio plan. Such a welcomed change. thought I would post a picture for you guys to see. What a difference 4 days make & holy sweet mother trucker I hold a lot of water. Grrr.

Blondee, really good progress that will drive your motiviation further. Mostly, people cannot achieve a given goal because they haven`t tried the right approach.
In this respect, I`d say say a few words on Paleo, Ketonic diet etc.
It`s been scientifically proven that once you meet your protein needs for the day, it`d not make any tangible difference what the rest of the diet is comprised of as long as you stay within the desired calorie range.
Stick with your diet - it`s working nonetheless.

    (Do this 10 times = 10 minutes)

    Change cardio equipment
20mins steady state at approximately 70% max heart rate/rate of perceived exertion(RPE)

    30seconds at 85%RPE
    30seconds rest
    (Do this 5 times)

Essentially you are releasing fatty acids during that 10 minute bout of high intensity intervals. The following 20-25 minutes will help burn those released fatty acids. Otherwise there's every chance that they will resettle in the lower half of your body.

    How does that sound?

This has to do with fat metabolism which is three-fold process - mobilization, transportation, oxidation. When you release fatty acids and don`t use them you`ll eventually store them back again that`s very simplistic explanation though

So one week has passed and I thought I'd post my progress!

Down 2 pounds & changes all over my body. Performed 4 cardio sessions, 2 were fasted & 2 were after work. Also did 3 full body workouts and man am I ever sore. Feels good. Took progress pics & I'm quite happy w: the progress I've made throughout the week! I'm going to continue what I've been doing for the next 3 weeks. Next weekend is my bday & I'll be traveling to a different city to celebrate w/ friends. I plan on brining my own meals (or the stuff required to cook while I'm there) so I can stay on track. I'll also be joining my gf's workouts w/ her at the local gym so I don't miss out!

Sorry about the lack of clothing, hope I don't offend anyone, but it's just the side of my body, nothing personal showing lol.

And like always.. Feedback or changes welcome!

Exactly right. Only women are a little different to men and there's every chance that they will store them in the lower half of their body particularly if they hold most of their fat down there.

Hahaha! Touché on the comment part

I'm not stupid, I do my research before I start something. I have tons of ppl giving me advice about weight loss, but it's all about choosing something that will work for that individual. Everyone on this thread has made some very good suggestions and based on your individual knowledge, avi's, etc... I felt as if I was in good hands. Some of the stuff I've been told to do doesn't even make sense to me (unlimited fruit, choc milk after a workout... Maybe in some cases, but not mine....). The guidance I've been given is simple - switch up cardio, incorporate CONSISTENT weight training, and eat good clean foods at the right times.

I'll give myself another 3 weeks for a new avi stem!

In my opinion , you don`t have to bring your meals or do any cooking for your birthday. 1 day break will serve you really well , it`s a good idea to eat like a normal person for a day. Do not go overboard or binge and rather eat 3-4 normal meals. IF you manage to keep your food within acceptable limits (not easy), will be great and won`t hurt.
I could elaborate , but really don`t have the time right now.

I really don`t understand people that follow a given diet plan meticulously for 7-10 days and then start cheating and binging for a whole day. On the next day ttry to over compensate with fasting and severe calorie restriction..... you can effortlessly consume 10 000 calories if you cheat all day long which can set you back seriously.
From health perspective that`s called eating disorder.
I`m approving of any type of diet break that will yield many positive effects - leptin increase, tyroid output will raise, insulin will inhibit muscle catabolism, sympatetic nervous system output will elevate and many others. This, however, will be attainable as long as the diet break or cheat meal is MODERATE in calories ( 20% above maintenance).
I don`t want to offend anybody and please don`t take it that way.

Alex I couldn't agree with you more. I've never liked cheat meals... I mean I do, they taste amazing, but I feel like they always set me back & obviously it could be just what I was eating ... 20% above my normal caloric intake makes sense. It also puts me in a negative frame of mind after I eat it, I feel like I've blown my diet... So I'd prefer just to eat clean & stay avoid them for as long as I need to. I understand that down the road cheat meals may benefit me, but I'm not at that stage yet.

With that being said, this weekend I plan to stay on track. I'll have a glass of red wine (or 2) with my bday dinner on Thursday (which will probably be fish w/ veggies, but other than that, I don't feel the need to cheat.

And SlimmerMe, thank you for your kind words!!
